The present invention provides an image generation system and a program embodied on an information storage medium or in a carrier wave which can generate an image in real-time of an object that distorts in accordance with an impact position, with a reduced quantity of data and computational load. There is provided an image generation system which generates an image of an object formed by a primitive surface. It comprises an impact computation section () which computes an impact position at which an impact is imparted to the object and a distortion computation section () which performs computations for causing the distortion of the primitive surface in the vicinity of that impact position, to generate an image of the object formed by the primitive surface that has been distorted when the object has been subjected to an impact. If polygonal objects are used, at least one vertex that is to be moved by the impact is determined, that vertex is moved to a distortion point, and an image is generated of the object that includes that post-movement vertex.

Image generation system and program

Am image generating system and program which can generate an image in which the change of state in an object propagate with less amount of data and reduced load in computation is provided. The image generating system generates an aggregate object () which is formed by a plurality of elemental objects. Each of the elemental objects (-to-) has means (-to-) for holding its own state in its own state buffer (-to-), means (-to-) for monitoring the other elemental objects belonging to the same aggregate object, and means (-to-) for changing the state of that elemental object when the states of the other elemental objects having a predetermined relationship relative to the elemental object are changed.

Image generating system and program

An image generation device and an information storage medium that make it possible to increase the virtual realism and dramatic effect of a shooting, game in an efficient manner. A plurality of objects such as target objects are set within an object space, and a hit check is performed on shots from 1P and 2P players and the target objects. First and second viewpoints for the 1P and 2P players are controlled and images as seen from those first and second viewpoints are output to first and second display screens, respectively. Although the viewpoints of the 1P and 2P players are the same in the prior art, they can be made different in this game. The first and second viewpoints move along first and second movement paths, and the first and second viewpoints are controlled in such a manner that the first and second movement paths diverge when a given circumstance occurs. The configuration is such that a target object and a character object representing one player can enter into the field of view of the other player. The first and second viewpoints and the target object are controlled in accordance with a difference in game results between the 1P and 2P players.
