A cosmetic composition is provided, the composition comprising a safe and effective amount of a skin care active with A log P less than &#x2212;2.0, a safe and effective amount of a fatty alcohol; and a safe and effective amount of a glyceryl ester. The combination of fatty alcohol and glyceryl esters surprisingly enhances penetration of skin care actives with low A log P values into skin.

Cosmetic compositions

A cosmetic composition suitable for topical application is provided. The cosmetic composition comprises: glycerin; a lipid bilayer structurant with a glyceryl headgroup; a penetration enhancer; and a skin care active. The penetration enhancer increases the amount of active that enters skin when the composition is topically applied, while the glycerin and lipid bilayer structurant with glyceryl headgroup work together with lipid bilayers of the skin to impede progress of active through the skin.

Cosmetic compositions and methods providing enhanced penetration of skin care actives

A cosmetic composition suitable for topical application is provided. The cosmetic composition comprises: a safe and effective amount of a humectant; a safe and effective amount of a lipid bilayer structurant, and a safe and effective amount of a chaotropic agent. The chaotropic agent denatures the cross-linked proteinaceous layer sitting immediately above skin thereby increasing the amount of humectant and lipid bilayer structurant that enters the stratum corneum; the humectant binds together with water molecules and the lipid bilayer structurant knits together the lipid bilayers of the stratum corneum thereby preventing water loss.

Cosmetic compositions for hydrating skin

A cosmetic composition suitable for topical application is provided. In some examples, the cosmetic composition can include glycerin, hexyldecanol, a vitamin B compound, and one or more materials selected from the group consisting of 1,2-pentanediol, 1,4-pentanediol, 2,4-pentanediol, 1,5-pentanediol, 1,2-butanediol, 1,3-butanediol, 1,4-butanediol, 2,3-butanediol, 1,2-hexanediol, 1,5-hexanediol, 1,6-hexanediol, 2,5-hexanediol, hexylene glycol, and combinations thereof.

Liposome and personal care composition comprising thereof

Personal care compositions comprise visible beads, cationic polymer, and surfactant. The visible beads in the personal care compositions can be utilized to provide an aesthetically pleasing appearance to the product. The visible beads can also be utilized to encapsulate and deliver skin benefit agents to the skin or hair.
