A lead frame includes a plurality of unit structures, an outer frame, a plurality of extending portions, and a plurality of coupling portions. The unit structures each includes a first lead portion and a second lead portion aligned in a first direction, and grouped into first and second groups including a plurality of the unit structures aligned in the first direction. The extending portions each includes a first extending portion extending in the second direction and connecting the first lead portions of the unit structures in the first and second groups a second extending portion connecting the second lead portions of the unit structures in the first and second groups. The coupling portions connect all the first extending portions and the second extending portions. At least one of the extending portions located at one of ends in the first direction is not directly connected to the outer frame.

Lead frame and method of manufacturing light emitting device

A light emitting device includes a package having a recess which includes a bottom surface having corners. The package includes a first electrode, a second electrode, and a resin portion. The first electrode is provided at a first part of the bottom surface. The second electrode is provided at a second part of the bottom surface. The resin portion is provided between the first electrode and the second electrode at a third part of the bottom surface. A protection element is provided on the bottom surface. A light reflective material covers the bottom surface except for an uncovered region to cover the protection element and the corners of the bottom surface and uncovers an uncovering region of the bottom surface. The uncovered region is defined by linear lines and curved lines connecting the linear lines. A light emitting element is provided in the uncovered region on the bottom surface.

Light emitting device

A light emitting device includes: a resin package including: a plurality of leads that includes: a first lead, and a second lead, a first resin portion, a second resin portion, and a third resin portion, the leads and the at least one inner lateral wall surface of the first resin portion defining a recess, the third resin portion being located between the first lead and the second lead, the second resin portion disposed surrounding an element mounting region at the bottom of the recess; and at least one light emitting element disposed on an element mounting region. At least one inner lateral wall surface of the recess has at least one protruding portion that protrudes toward the at least one light emitting element. A region of the recess between the at least one inner lateral wall surface and the second resin portion is covered by a light-reflective member.

Light emitting device and method of producing the same

A light emitting device includes a base having a first lead electrode and a second lead electrode. Each of the first lead electrode and the second lead electrode includes a reflecting layer which includes silver or silver alloy plating containing a sulfur-based gloss agent. A light emitting element is provided on one side of the base and is electrically connected to the first lead electrode and the second lead electrode. The reflecting layer is on the one side of the base. A sealer includes resin and is provided on the one side of the base to seal the light emitting element and at least a part of the first lead electrode and the second lead electrode. A light-transmissive protective film includes an inorganic matter and is provided between the reflecting layer and the sealer.

A light emitting device includes a package having a recess which includes a bottom surface. A first bottom surface of a first light emitting element is put on a first part of the bottom surface. A second bottom surface of a second light emitting element is put on the first part of the bottom surface. A first side surface of the first light emitting element is opposite to a second side surface of the second light emitting element with a gap. At least a part of the first side surface does not overlap with the second side surface viewed in a direction perpendicular to the first side surface. A protection element is provided at a second part of the bottom surface. A light reflective material covers the protection element.

A light emitting device includes a resin package having a recess defined by a recess bottom surface and a recess lateral surface. The resin package includes a first lead including a first lead lower surface, a first lead upper surface, and an end portion. The light emitting element is mounted on the first lead upper surface opposite to the first lead lower surface. The light reflecting member is disposed on the recess bottom surface between the recess lateral surface and the light emitting element in a lateral direction. The end portion is provided between the first lead lower surface and the light reflecting member in the lateral direction. The end portion has a cross-sectional area viewed in the lateral direction which is smaller than a cross-sectional area of the first lead between the first lead lower surface and the first lead upper surface viewed in the lateral direction.

A light emitting device includes a base structure, a wall, a light emitting element, a protection element, and a light reflective portion. The wall includes an inner peripheral surface defining an opening. The opening has a substantially polygonal shape in a planar view of the light emitting device. The light reflective portion has a maximum length which is longest in the light reflective portion. The maximum length is defined at a maximum-length position closest to the first corner among a plurality of positions defined in the light reflective portion. The light reflective portion has a minimum length which is shortest in the light reflective portion. The minimum length is defined at a minimum-length position arranged apart from the maximum-length position. The light reflective portion includes an inclined surface extending from the maximum-length position to the minimum-length position.

A light emitting device, comprises: a first semiconductor light emitting element; a second semiconductor light emitting element; a first metal member mounting on its top face the first semiconductor light emitting element; a second metal member mounting on its top face the second semiconductor light emitting element; and a resin package having on its top face a window through which light is taken off from the first semiconductor light emitting element and the second semiconductor light emitting element, wherein the second metal member is thinner around its peripheral edge than in its middle, and the rear face of the first metal member is facing the top face of the peripheral edge.

The device includes a blue light emitting region having a first light emitting part and a yellow light emitting region having a second light emitting part and a wavelength converting member arranged to absorb light from the second light emitting part and to convert the wavelength thereof to emit yellow light. The second light emitting part has a higher output than that of the first light emitting part. With this arrangement, output of the yellow light can be increased, so that the device can be used in an image reading apparatus with a high sensitivity.

A light-emitting device includes a light-emitting element and a light-guiding member for causing light from the light-emitting element entering into it through one surface thereof. The light-emitting element includes a lead member with a light-emitting element chip mounted thereon and a molded member to which the lead member is secured. The lead member has a metallic part extending from the molded member, and the metallic part is bent. The thus arranged light-emitting device has an excellent heat release capability. An image reading apparatus using the light-emitting device is also provided.

A light emitting device capable of emitting an excellent mixed color light, and a light emitting device capable of enhancing the concentration of mixed light or the directivity of emission is provided. The light emitting device comprises a light emitting element and a package. The package includes at least two recesses each having a bottom surface for mounting a light emitting element thereon and a side surface extending from the bottom surface, wherein each recess has, in a vertical cross section of the recess, a vertical line passing through the center of the bottom surface of the recess which is different than a vertical line passing through the intersection of a first straight line extending along an inclined edge of the recess and a second straight line extending along an inclined edge on another side of the recess.

A first GaN group light emitting element that emits blue light, a second GaN group light emitting element that emits green light, and a third light emitting element that emits red light are provided on a first lead terminal, a second lead terminal, and a third lead terminal, respectively. These lead terminals are secured by a securing member. A second portion in the first lead terminal and a second portion in the second lead terminal are wider than a second portion in the third lead electrode. The second portion of the third lead terminal is wider than parts corresponding to second portions of the fourth lead terminal to the sixth lead terminal.
