An aqueous solution electrolyte secondary battery includes: a positive electrode including a positive electrode active material that reversibly occludes and releases lithium ions; a negative electrode including a negative electrode active material that reversibly occludes and releases lithium ions; and an aqueous solution electrolyte in which a lithium salt is dissolved. The negative electrode active material contains Mo, at least part of the Mo causes an oxidation-reduction reaction of Mo/Mothrough charging and discharging, and a potential window for charging and discharging exceeds 2.0 V.

It is an object of the present invention to provide an electrode capable of maintaining superior capacity retention without destruction of an electrode structure, even in the case of using an active material including silicon. Binder for lithium cell, composition for producing electrode, and electrode

A positive electrode-active material is provided for use in a positive electrode for a sodium secondary cell and a sodium secondary cell. Also provided is a positive electrode for a sodium secondary cell and a sodium secondary cell having a high energy density. A sodium transition metal cathode material for a rechargeable sodium battery having a P2 layered bronze crystal structure, comprising at least 55 mol % manganese, wherein the manganese valence state is at least 3.75. The material undergoes a structural transformation to a secondary cathode material by extraction of sodium during the 1charge of a rechargeable sodium battery comprising the sodium cathode material. The material has either a composition NaMOwhere M=MnLiAwhere z&#x3c;0.2 and y&#x3c;0.33 and 0.66&#x3c;x&#x3c;0.95, and wherein A consists of either one of more elements of the group Ti, Fe, Ni, Mg and Co, or a composition NaxMO2 where M=LiMnMgAwhere 0&#x3c;a&#x3c;0.2, c&#x3c;0.2 and 0.2&#x3c;a+b&#x3c;0.46 and 0.66&#x3c;x&#x3c;0.95, and wherein A consists of either one of more elements of the group Ti, Fe, Ni and Co.

Doped sodium manganese oxide cathode material for sodium ion batteries

Provided is a novel lithium complex oxide containing molybdenum. A complex oxide represented by the following compositional formula: LiMMoO wherein M is one or two or more selected from the group consisting of Mn, Ru, Sn, Mg, Al, Ti, V, Cr, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, and Zn; x is in the range of 0.60 to 0.75; y is in the range of 0.15 to 0.25; and z is in the range of 0.075 to 0.20.

Active material for nonaqueous electrolyte energy storage device

There are provided a battery electrode wherein an active material layer is formed on a collector surface, and the layer contains an active material and a block copolymer having a vinyl alcohol polymer block; and a lithium ion secondary battery having a laminate structure in which a pair of electrodes having an active material layer are disposed in such a manner that the active material layers face each other via a separator, and an electrolyte composition containing a lithium-containing electrolyte salt fills the gaps between the pair of electrodes and the separator, wherein at least one of the pair of electrodes is the above battery electrode. Thus, there can be provided a lithium ion secondary battery which can be easily produced and be less polarized, exhibiting excellent charge/discharge properties and cycle characteristics.

Provided are: a composite metal oxide with which it is possible to improve the performance of a sodium secondary battery; a process for producing the composite metal oxide; a positive active material which comprises the composite metal oxide; a positive electrode produced using the positive active material; and a sodium secondary battery including the positive electrode. The composite metal oxide is represented by the following formula: NaFeMnO. The composite metal oxide is constituted of an oxide having a P2 structure and a lamellar oxide, with some extent of stacking faults, having an octahedral structure and/or a triangular-prism structure.
