A reference core position calculation devicethat calculates a reference core position of an elevator shaft in which an elevator is to be installed includes a measurement unitand a calculation unit. The measurement unitmeasures a dimension of each portion of the elevator shaft. The calculation unitcalculates portion dimension values of the elevator shaft based on the reference core position and the dimension of each portion measured by the measurement unit. When the reference core position is a first reference core position, the calculation unitdetermines whether portion dimension values of the elevator shaft calculated based on the first reference core position satisfy a predetermined specification.

Reference core position calculation device for elevator and reference core position calculation method

A control system for an elevator includes a first car speed detection device and a second car speed detection device to measure a moving speed of the car, a hoist brake to apply braking to the hoist, emergency stop equipment to brake the car by grasping guide rails, and a control device to control the hoist, the hoist brake, and the emergency stop equipment based on outputs of the first car speed detection device and the second car speed detection device. If two pieces of velocity data that have been output from the first car speed detection device and the second car speed detection device respectively differ from one another and acceleration data of the car calculated from one that is higher of the two pieces of velocity data is equal to or more than a predetermined threshold, the control device decides if either car speed detection device is abnormal.

Elevator wire rope

An elevator apparatus comprises two (2) or more sets of elevators with one (1) piece of an elevating passage. Each of the elevators has an elevator car and a hoist, which is connected to the elevator car through a rope. Each the hoist has a sheave, a motor and a brake. The hoist of one of the elevators is projected above the elevator car of the other elevator. Also, open/close doors of the one elevator and those of the other elevator are disposed, so that they shift in front and behind. Door cases of the juxtaposing elevators are disposed to overlap with each other in front and behind.
