A base station controller that manages a plurality of cells includes a receiving part configured to receive, from another base station controller that manages a cell sharing a communication area with each of the plurality of cells, identification information of a cell group to which a cell formed by a base station of connection destination candidate of a mobile station connected to a base station under control of the another base station controller belongs, and a control part configured to exercise control to transmit a message requesting connection to the mobile station to each base station forming the cells contained in the cell group.

Base station controller, base station and communication method

A mobile communication system has a plurality of nodes, hierarchically connected to each other, including a source base station and a target base station. A U-plane management station includes detecting unit detecting a handover for the mobile terminal, and a Bi-casting unit redundantly transmitting, when detecting the handover for the mobile terminal, the same user data addressed to the mobile terminal toward both of the source base station and the target base station. The target base station includes a retaining unit receiving the user data addressed to the mobile terminal, which is transmitted by the U-plane management station, and retaining the user data, and a wireless transmitting unit wirelessly transmitting, when the mobile terminal is wirelessly connected after moving, the user data requested by the mobile terminal in the user data retained by the retaining unit and addressed to the mobile terminal.

Mobile communication system

A plurality of base transceiver stations and at least one extension device are connected, via an IP network that uses internet protocol. The extension device shares resources of the base transceiver stations by arbitrary changing a connection relationship between the base transceiver stations and the extension devices. When a mobile terminal communicates with a core network, the extension device uses the resources of at least one base transceiver stations according to fluctuation in the amount of traffic.

When a terminal enters a cell of a personal-use base station (NBTS) arranged in a certain location area, the terminal receives a location area identifier having a number that is different from an identifier of the location area, and transmits a location updating request with the reception of the location area identifier as a trigger. On receiving the location updating request, a VLR or an NRNC having a registration table, in which the ID of the personal-use base station and the ID of a terminal allowed to use the personal-use base station are registered, judges whether the terminal issued the location updating request is the terminal allowed to use the personal-use base station by referring to the registration table. If the terminal issued the location updating request corresponds to the terminal allowed to use the personal-use base station, the terminal is placed under a status where it is capable of performing communication in the cell, and if not, the terminal is placed under a status where it is incapable of performing communication in the cell.
