Image data of a vehicle occupant are collected from a plurality of cameras. A dimensional model of substantially an entire body of the vehicle occupant is generated based on the image data. A gesture performed by the vehicle occupant is recognized based on the dimensional model. A vehicle subsystem is adjusted based on the gesture.

Virtual vehicle occupant rendering

A vehicle model including main and secondary modules is provided. The vehicle module may also include vehicle components, a frame, a camera system, and a controller. The vehicle components are operably connected to the modules. The frame supports the modules and components and defines a 3D coordinate system including identifiable reference points. The camera system is arranged with the frame to capture activity within the 3D coordinate system. The controller is in communication with, and configured to direct operation of, the modules, components, and camera system based on the identifiable reference points and accessible vehicle CAD data. The vehicle components may comprise a subject platform located adjacent to, detached from, and integrated to function with the modules. The subject platform may be configured to vertically adjust between a plurality of positions for simulating ground outside a vehicle.

Reconfigurable vehicle model

In one embodiment, a vehicle model is disclosed. The vehicle model includes a main vehicle module including a primary base and a number of components. The number of main vehicle module components is moveably mounted to the main vehicle module primary base. The vehicle model also includes a secondary vehicle module including a number of components. The main vehicle module and secondary vehicle modules are relatively positionable relative to one another to obtain a first and second vehicle configuration. The first and second vehicle configurations are different from each other.

Method and system for developing a vehicle package

A method () for cascading system level target to component level design objectives using machine learning and design synthesis techniques. The method () of the present invention uses machine learning techniques to build () surrogate models from given system targets (). The method then employs design synthesis methods to determine () a range of component level design objectives for the given system level targets using the surrogate models. The range of component level design objectives is fed back () to one of the surrogate models to determine () the component design objectives.

Method for cascading vehicle system targets to component level design objectives

A method is disclosed for determining the correctness of proposed values or data for engineering parameters. The method incorporates the use of a server side computer and a client side computer connected to each other via an electronic network. The method includes the steps of obtaining a knowledge base of data. The knowledge base is stored on the server side computer. Proposed values or data are generated at the client side computer using an applet. The proposed data is then transmitted over the network from the client side computer to the server side network. The proposed data is then compared against the knowledge base of data using a servlet designed to invoke and utilize computers other than the server side computer that may have rules or facts necessary to test the proposed data. The results are prepared and then transmitted from the server side computer to the client side computer. The client side computer does not require a proprietary application to be resident therein. It merely requires a web browser to access and utilize all of the information resident in the knowledge base stored in the server side computer.
