A formation tester tool assembly includes a seal member mounted on rigid stabilizer that contacts a borehole wall separately from the seal member, so that seal exposure to a stabilization load that presses the tool against the borehole wall is limited or reduced by contact engagement of the stabilizer with the borehole wall. The stabilizer is provided by a hydraulically actuated probe piston reciprocally movable relative to a tool body on which it is mounted. The seal member is in some embodiments movable relative to the probe piston, for example being configured for hydraulic actuation to sealingly engage the borehole wall while the tool body is stabilized by action of the probe piston.

Formation tester tool

A system includes a computer including a processor and a memory, the memory storing instructions executable by the processor to determine respective threat numbers for each of a plurality of targets based on an angular acceleration of a host vehicle and actuate a component in the host vehicle based on the threat numbers.

A time to collision is determined between a turning host vehicle and each of a plurality of targets. Based on a lateral distance and a longitudinal distance, a minimum distance is determined between the turning host vehicle and each of the plurality of targets. A threat number is determined for each target selected based on the time to collision and the minimum distance. A vehicle component is actuated based on the threat number.

A vehicle includes a sensor configured to detect a first road feature, an adjustable suspension system, and a processing device. The processing device is configured to determine, using a drive history map, a location of the vehicle based on the first road feature and apply a suspension profile to the suspension system. The suspension profile is associated with a second road feature identified by the drive history map, which is at a different location from the first road feature.

A controller in a host vehicle includes a processor and a memory storing processor-executable instructions. The processor is programmed to calculate an error bound for confidence intervals of a predicted position at a future time of a target vehicle relative laterally to a current position and orientation of the host vehicle at a current time based on a current position and velocity of the target vehicle and the future time.

A controller includes a processor and a memory storing processor-executable instructions in a host vehicle. The processor is programmed to designate a target vehicle as a collision risk upon determining that an intersection angle between the host vehicle and the target vehicle is between preset lower and upper bounds and an absolute value of an azimuth angle rate of change of the host vehicle is below a preset threshold.

Collision-warning system

At least one example embodiment discloses a method of controlling steering of a vehicle. The method includes identifying a reduced-order vehicle model, the reduced-order vehicle model representing a vehicle transfer function in which a least one high-frequency pole is removed. The method further includes generating target closed loop pole locations based on at least one user preference parameter. The method further includes determining calibration parameters that place closed loop poles of a composite system at the target closed loop poles. The composite system in this context includes the reduced-order vehicle model and a steering control system. Finally, the method includes controlling the steering using the steering control system configured using the calibration parameters.
