A (meth)acrylate functional silicone and method for its preparation are provided. This (meth)acrylate functional silicone may have pendant poly(meth)acrylate-functional groups. This (meth)acrylate functional silicone may have terminal alkenyl groups. This (meth)acrylate functional silicone may be used in pressure sensitive adhesives.

(Meth)acrylate functional silicone and methods for its preparation and use

Curable silicone elastomer compositions having enhanced adhesive properties with respect to a wide variety of substrates are described. The compositions described herein are provided with a phenylmethylpolysiloxane based additive which comprises at least one, alternatively at least two Si—H groups per molecule and at least one, alternatively at least two epoxide functional groups per molecule. Said phenylmethylpolysiloxane based additives provide resulting elastomers with improved heat-humidity stabilization.

Silicone elastomer compositions

A silicone hybrid pressure sensitive adhesive composition that cures to form a silicone hybrid pressure sensitive adhesive contains a polydiorganosiloxane having reactive groups. The reactive groups include a silicon bonded(meth)acryloxyalkyl-functional group in a pendant position and optionally a silicon bonded aliphatically unsaturated hydrocarbon group in a terminal position. The silicone hybrid pressure sensitive adhesive composition can be cured via hydrosilylation reaction on a surface of a substrate to form a protective film. The protective film can be used to protect a passivation layer during a process for fabricating an (opto)electronic device such as a flexible organic light emitting diode display. The protective film can be exposed to radiation to reduce tack and facilitate detaching the protective film from the passivation layer.

Silicone hybrid pressure sensitive adhesive and methods for its preparation and use in protective films for (opto)electronic device fabrication

A one-part room temperature vulcanisable (RTV) silicone composition containing a catalyst comprising (i) a titanate and/or zirconate and (ii) a metal carboxylate salt which cures to a silicone elastomer which may be used as a clear sealant which avoids discolouration and loss of adhesion upon aging.

The compound prepared by the method, a copolymer comprising the reaction product of the compound and a second compound, a method of forming the copolymer, and a composition comprising the copolymer are each also provided.

Acrylate-functional branched organosilicon compound, method of preparing same, and copolymer formed therewith

A multifunctional organosilicon compound is provided which has the general formula XSi([OSiR]p-0-SiRY)a(R)— ln the formula, X is selected from H and ethylenically un saturated moieties; each Y independently comprises a functional moiety selected from alkoxysilyl moieties, acryloxy moieties, and epoxide moieties; each R is an independently selected hydrocarbyl group; each R1 is an independently selected hydrocarbyl group; subscript a is 1, 2, or 3; and each subscript b is independently 0, 1, or 2. A method of preparing the multifunctional organosilicon compound is also provided. The method comprises reacting (A) an organosilanol compound and (B) a silane compound having at least two hydrolysable groups. A functionalized siloxane compound prepared from the multifunctional organosilicon compound, a method of preparing the functionalized siloxane compound, and an adhesive comprising the functionalized siloxane compound are also provided.

Also provided is a method of preparing the compound, a copolymer comprising the reaction product of the compound and a second compound reactive with the compound, a method of forming the copolymer, and a composition including at least one of the compound and the copolymer.

Branched organosilicon compound, method of preparing same, and copolymer formed therewith

A method for preparing functionalized polyorganosiloxanes is disclosed. The method includes 1) combining starting materials including A) a boron-containing Lewis acid catalyst, and B) an organosilicon compound having an average, per molecule of at least 1 silicon bonded groups of the formula —OR; wherein each Ris an independently selected monovalent hydrocarbon group of 1 to 6 carbon atoms, thereby forming a catalyzed mixture; and thereafter 2) adding the catalyzed mixture into a starting material including C) an organohydrogensiloxane having at least 1 silicon bonded hydrogen atom per molecule, thereby preparing a product comprising the functionalized polyorganosiloxane and a by-product comprising HR.

Also provided is a method of preparing the compound via hydrosilylation reaction, a copolymer comprising the reaction product of the compound and a second compound reactive with the compound, a method of forming the copolymer, and a composition including at least one of the compound and the copolymer.

A method of preparing the branched organosilicon compound and a composition comprising the branched organosilicon compound are also provided.

A composition contains a mixture of silyl hydride, an alpha-beta unsaturated ester, a Lewis acid catalyst and an amine having the following formula: RRRN; where the nitrogen is not a member of an N═C—N linkage and where each of R, R, and Ris independently selected from a group consisting of hydrogen, alkyl, substituted alkyl, and conjugated moieties; and wherein at least one of R, Rand Ris a conjugated moiety connected to the nitrogen by a conjugated carbon.

Thermally initiated acid catalyzed reaction between silyl hydride and alpha-beta unsaturated esters

A branched organosilicon compound is provided having the general formula: (R)—X—[SiR0]—SiRR. In the formula: each R is independently a substituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbyl group; each Ris selected from R and —OSi(R), with the proviso that at least one Ris —OSi(R); each Ris selected from R, —OSi(R), and —[OSiR]OSiR; each R5 is selected from R, —OSi(R), and —[OSiR]OSiR; each Ris selected from R and —[OSiR]OSiR; with the proviso that at least one of R, Rand Ris —[OSiR]OSiR; 0≤m≤100; X is a divalent linking group; 1≤n≤10; and Rhas the general -D-O—(CHO)—R. In R, D is a divalent hydrocarbon linking group, subscript p is 0 or 1, subscript q is independently selected from 2 to 4 in each moiety indicated by subscript r, subscript r is from 1 to 500, and Ris selected from substituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbyl groups and H.

A method of preparing an acryloxy-functional organosilicon compound is provided. The method comprises reacting (A) an initial organosilicon compound and (B) an acrylate compound in the presence of (C) a catalyst. The initial organosilicon compound (A) has one alcohol functional group (i.e., is monohydroxyl functional). The catalyst (C) has the formula M[RC(O)CHC(O)R], where M is a group IV transition metal and each R is an independently selected substituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbyl group. An acryloxy-functional organosilicon compound prepared by the method is also provided. The acryloxy-functional organosilicon compound is prepared in increased purity, without relying on toxic catalysts.

Method of preparing acryloxy-functional organosilicon compounds

A polydiorganosiloxane having both a silicon bonded aliphatically unsaturated group and a silicon bonded poly(meth)acrylate polymer or copolymer, and method for preparation of this polydiorganosiloxane are disclosed. The method preserves the aliphatically unsaturated groups when grafting the poly(meth)acrylate to the polydiorganosiloxane. This polydiorganosiloxane is useful in hydrosilylation reaction curable compositions, such as pressure sensitive adhesive compositions.
