A lost or stolen mobile electronic device may attempt to attach to a foreign network where the phone is not blocklisted. During the foreign network/roaming attach process, a location update may be sent to the home network. The location update may include identifying information for the device. A mapping of the device and the foreign network's association may be stored within an operator database at the home network. Once the lost or stolen phone authenticates with an access point (AP), the mobile device may associate or register with the AP to gain full access to the foreign MNO. The lost or stolen phone may send an Association Request including updated location information and the phone's identification to the phone's home network. If the mapping does not include the phone's identification and the requesting foreign network, then the home network will deny the association request.

Device IMEI/IMEISV/TAC screening and steering while roaming in wireless networks

A dynamic subscriber profile management system allows subscriber device profiles to be selected and applied based on the subscriber profile based on device type, a location of the device, or a combination of both. The system may receive information relating to the subscriber, the type of device, and the location of the device to perform a lookup of available profiles or profile settings and either update an existing profile for current use or select a profile from a catalog of available profiles.

A method and system for a device-based smart NAT selection. A method includes receiving a request from a user equipment (UE) for access to a mobile network. The method further identifies a configuration profile embedded in the request from the UE. In response to identifying, the mobile network identifies a plurality of connection preferences in the configuration profile. The method further enables the mobile network to select one of the plurality of the connection preferences for accessing the mobile network by the UE. The method further connects the UE to the mobile network according to the selected one of the connection preferences.

In response to determining that the authentication function operating on the authentication node on a network is being partially throttled, a re-direct message may be communicated to at least one edge device on the network that requests of the authentication function on the authentication node be re-directed to a different authentication node.

Intelligent network access technology (NAT) control is described herein. An event associated with a mobile computing device can be detected. Responsive to the event being detected, a subscriber identity module (SIM) associated with the mobile computing device can access location information associated with a location of the mobile computing device. The SIM can access a configuration table storing NAT data provided by a network for controlling which NATs the mobile computing device is permitted to use to access the network. The SIM can determine, based at least in part on the NAT data and the location information, that a requested NAT of the mobile computing device is not a permissible NAT for the mobile computing device in the location and the SIM can cause the mobile computing device to connect to the network via an alternate NAT.

Intelligent network access technology (NAT) selection

A module may have more than one device, such as an IoT device, that requires bootstrapping. A first device may be provisioned with a pre-shared key (PSK). The first device, such as an IoT device, may bootstrap in a conventional manner using its PSK. A second device without a PSK may be added to the module post-manufacture. The first device may share registration details with the second device and also with an LwM2M server. When contacted by the second device, the LwM2M server may associate the second device with the first device and treat them as one from an operational standpoint, reducing the need for pre-shared keys across domains lacking an existing trust relationship.

Systems and/or methods for distributing Internet-of-Things (IoT) can include a Service Capability Server (SCS) for facilitating an exchange of messages between an IoT device and an Application Server (AS). The SCS may store a priority value associated with the IoT device in a priority value database. The system may determine that a network condition has experienced a first change (e.g., an outage occurs), and may store incoming messages in a message database. Upon determining that the network has experienced a second change (e.g., the outage ends), the SCS may send the message to the IoT in a sequence of transmissions based, at least in part, on the priority value. In some instances, the priority value may be determined based on a registration process, the message, and/or one or more device parameter(s) of the IoT device.

Systems and methods for distributing Internet-of-Things messages

Steering logic from a home network may allow a subscriber to roam toward a preferred foreign network while the subscriber is roaming from the home network to the foreign network. The steering logic may be built around the capability of the device or its information in various registers or other information that indicates which networks are preferred for the device. This logic may be part of a roaming agreement that is negotiated between a home MNO and foreign MNOs. In this manner, IoT devices may be steered to a specific network or first foreign network provider, voice-over-long-term-evolution (VoLTE) devices may be steered to a second foreign network partner, and non-VoLTE devices may be steered to a third foreign network partner. In this way, a network operator may preserve their network bandwidth for devices that require or may use particular network technologies while others do not.
