A single-piece multi-fiber ferrule interconnect assembly including a ferrule body having a main surface, a front frame, and a rear opening, wherein the front frame includes a front face and a back face; a plurality of lenses arranged to form a lens array, wherein the lenses are fabricated within the front frame and recessed from the front face; a plurality of grooves on the main surface for receiving a plurality of optical fibers, the grooves extending from the back face toward the rear opening, wherein each groove comprises a terminus located at the focal point of a corresponding lens on the front frame; a well located on the main surface along the back face of the front frame, wherein inside edges of the well are curved and wherein the well is capable of accommodating an epoxy; and a plurality of guide pin passageways on the ferrule body each having a pin aperture for receiving alignment pins from a complementary ferrule body, wherein the pin aperture and the alignment pin from the complementary ferrule body align the ferrule front faces such that ends of the optical fibers align.

Multi-fiber ferrule connector

A communication system includes a receptacle cage and a circuit board. The receptacle cage has walls defining a port that is configured to receive a pluggable module therein. The receptacle cage houses a communication connector configured to electrically connect to the pluggable module. The receptacle cage and the communication connector therein are both mounted on a top face of the circuit board. The circuit board defines at least one opening through the circuit board in a port mounting area that aligns with the port of the receptacle cage. The at least one opening is configured to receive heat dissipating fins therethrough that transfer heat from the pluggable module in the port through the circuit board to a cooling fluid beyond a bottom face of the circuit board.

Heat dissipating communication system

A low profile, high power electrical connector assembly is disclosed. The connector assembly includes a plug and a receptacle connector designed to be mounted on separate printed circuit boards. The plug and receptacle connectors are designed to be mated and thus allow the separate circuit boards to be electrically connected in tandem in either the same plane or perpendicular to one another. The connector assembly includes a plug contact and a receptacle contact provided with cooling slots and an at least partially open rear face configured to permit the dissipation of heat.

A stacked jack multi-port shielded and magnetically conditioned connector assembly is provided for assembly in three distinct configurations. In one configuration where power over ethernet is not required, the connector assembly has modular jack terminals which are directly connected to a motherboard. In a second configuration, the connector assembly can receive conditioned and controlled electrical signals to the connector, whereby power over ethernet may be provided through designated ones of the modular jack terminals. In a third configuration, the connector assembly is configured for an integrated power over ethernet card, whereby the device is provided as an integrated assembly.

An electrical connector includes a main housing having a forward mating face and a rearward mounting face, and a plurality of contact modules received in the main housing. Each contact module includes an upper contact module and a lower contact module joined to the upper contact module along side edges of the upper and lower contact modules. Each upper and lower contact module includes a contact housing holding rows of contacts including pairs of signal contacts and individual ground contacts.

Vertical docking connector

A stacked jack multi-port shielded and magnetically conditioned connector assembly is provided for assembly in three distinct configurations. One configuration is where power over ethernet is not required, but rather modular jack contacts are directly connected to a motherboard. A second configuration, the connector assembly can be configured to be enabled to receive conditioned and controlled electrical signals to the connector, whereby power over ethernet may be provided through designated ones of the modular jack contacts. Alternatively, the connector can be configured for an integrated power over ethernet card, where the device is provided as an integrated assembly.

A double ended guide pin includes an elongated body having first and second opposite ends extending along a longitudinal axis of the body and an attachment portion centrally located between the first and second ends. Each of the first and second ends includes at least one keying surface and each of the first and second ends is receivable in a guide that has a channel corresponding to the at least one keying surface.

Connector (10) including a wire carrier (14) for terminating a wire (18) to a terminal (60) affixed in housing (12) through insulation displacement. Terminal (60) includes reinforced beam portions (64) along either side of IDC slot (62) for stiffening the beam portions for use with 18.5 AWG Aerial drop wire. Wire carrier (14) is pivotable from an open position to a closed position after an insulated wire (18) has been inserted fully into wire-receiving passageway (20), and is locked in the closed position by locking section (54) of the housing (12).

A connector (10) for an electrical distribution system includes an internal member or wedge (12) received within an external member (11) having an inherent resiliency. The external member (11) has a pair of end portions (15, 16), each of which has an opening (17, 18) to receive a respective wire (13, 14), and the wires (13, 14) are clamped mechanically between the side edges of the internal member or wedge (12) and the respective end portions (15, 16) of the external member (11). No special tool is required, either for the initial installation or subsequent disassembly for repair or replacement, and the inherent resiliency of the external member (11) accommodates any material creepage or dimensional instability in the wire material due to line current variations or adverse weather conditions, particularly where aluminum wires are used.
