A vent apparatus includes a tank mount made of a weldable plastics material and a fuel systems component such as a valve assembly. The valve assembly includes a valve housing made of a non-weldable plastics material and a valve movable in a valve chamber formed in the valve housing to open and close an aperture leading to a venting outlet. The tank mount supports the valve housing in a position in a mounting aperture formed in a fuel tank. The valve housing is made by injecting non-weldable plastics material into a mold containing the pre-molded tank mount.

Method for forming a weldable mount for fuel systems component

An apparatus is provided for controlling venting of vapor to and from a fuel tank. The apparatus includes a housing and first and second valves positioned in the housing. The first valve controls the primary flow of vapors from the fuel tank and includes an aperture permitting an auxiliary flow of vapor to and from the fuel tank. The second valve controls the auxiliary flow of vapor to the fuel tank and includes first and second apertures permitting vapor to flow to the fuel tank. The second valve moves between a first position permitting vapor to flow through the first aperture and a second position permitting vapor to flow through the first and second apertures at a greater flow rate.

Tank vent control apparatus

A cap is provided for use in the filler neck of a tank. The cap includes a handle, an o-ring sealing gasket, and a closure body including an upper body portion coupled to the handle and a lower body portion rotatably coupled to the upper body portion for rotation about an axis of rotation. The o-ring sealing gasket is mounted on the lower body portion for movement therewith.
