An inkjet recording head includes: nozzles that jet ink droplets; pressure chambers that communicate with the nozzles and contain ink; a diaphragm that configures part of the pressure chambers; an ink pool chamber that pools ink to be supplied to the pressure chambers via ink flow paths; and piezoelectric elements that cause the diaphragm to be displaced, wherein the ink pool chamber is disposed opposite from the pressure chambers with the diaphragm being disposed therebetween, and drive ICs that apply a voltage to the piezoelectric elements are mounted on a piezoelectric element substrate formed to include the diaphragm.

Inkjet recording head

There are provided a structure of an ink-jet recording head comprising a substrate; a first conductive layer provided on the substrate; an insulating layer provided on the first conductive layer; a second conductive layer formed on the insulting layer and coming into contact with the first conductive layer; and a heat generation layer disposed on the second conductive layer and having, on a surface thereof, a self-oxidized protective film as an ink-contact interface, in order that metal conductive layer material having excellent energy efficiency and typified as aluminum, which is generally used as semiconductor material, can be used.

Ink-jet recording head

A driving circuit for an acoustic printer and an acoustic printer which enables high speed and high image quality recording and is reduced in size and cost. An inductance switching circuit connected in parallel to an electrostatic capacity included in a piezoelectric element is connected to an amplifying part. The inductance switching circuit and the electrostatic capacity form a parallel resonance circuit called TANK circuit. The inductance switching circuit is formed by two inductances and switches connected in series to the respective inductances, and the inductances are connected in parallel. The switches are externally controllable.

Driving circuit for acoustic printer and acoustic printer using the same

A print storage medium comprises a heat-generating layer for generating heat with an electrical signal input in accordance with a picture, the signal being supplied from a printing signal applying electrode to which the heat-generating layer is in pressure contact, an electrically conductive layer, an ink layer provided on the heat generated layer. The print storage medium is further provided with a plurality of microscopic electrodes on the storage medium with which the printing signal-applying electrode is in pressure contact, each of the microscopic electrodes being isolated from others. The electrically conductive layer may be formed of striped electrodes. The isolated microscopic patterns may be formed of electrically conductive ceramics or of electrically conductive resin.

Print storage medium

A current-conducting thermosensitive recording media used for non-impact recording which attains better energy efficiency and higher printing speeds through a thermosensitive recording ink medium comprising: a stratified ink support in which electrical conductivity in the direction of the thickness is greater than the electrical conductivity in the direction of the surface; a thermogenetic resistor layer for producing heat; a return electrode layer; a thermally melting ink layer; and an ink separating layer. The thermogenetic resistor layer, the electrode layer, the ink separating layer, and the thermally melting ink layer are laminated on the ink support in that order.

Thermal transfer recording media

An ink jet recording head wherein both electric and thermal energies are applied to an ink located in the area to which both energies are applied and employing a plurality of heating resistors for heating the ink, an electric field forming electrode, a heat resistant insulating layer on the surface of the heating resistors and wherein the electric field forming electrode is positioned on the heat resistant insulating layer.

Thermal-electrostatic ink jet recording apparatus

A thermal-electrostatic ink jet recording head is formed of two spaced-apart insulating substrates with an electrostatic field forming electrode and an array of electric heating elements in the slit between the substrates. The heating elements are paired and each of the adjacent heating elements of a pair joined by a common electrode, with each heater having an independent electrode connectable to a switching circuit for selectively heating portions of the ink under the influence of an electrostatic field to cause ink in the heated portions to be jetted. The common electrode preferably is U-shaped with each of its free ends connected to the inner ends of the adjacent electrodes of a pair.

A method and an ink for use in thermal electrostatic ink-jet recording wherein the ink has appropriate physical properties, i.e. density, viscosity and surface tension in relation to the gap to which the electric field is applied and the density of air to make it possible to readily set conditions in the recording head which are appropriate for jetting the ink.

Thermal electrostatic ink-jet recording method and an ink therefor

A non-impact ink jet image recording head for jetting a liquid coloring agent, such as ink, at a recording member (paper) wherein both electric and thermal energies are applied to ink contained in the image recording head; wherein heating elements are provided in a horizontal base and the ink is contained above the heating elements. Preferably, a pair of damlike members, with a discharge portion, contain the ink in a channel above the heating elements.

A method of ink jet recording wherein thermal and electric energies are applied to a liquid coloring agent, such as ink, to jet the ink toward a recording member, such as paper. A plurality of spaced apart electric heating resistor and lead electrodes are used to heat the ink and are in direct contact with the ink which has a high electrical resistivity, e.g., a volume resistivity of at least about 10.sup.6 .OMEGA..multidot. cm. Also, there may be used a plurality of spaced apart electric field forming electrodes to apply an electric field to the ink having sufficient electrical resistance to prevent leakage across the electrodes.

Method and apparatus for thermal-electrostatic ink jet recording

Thermal electrostatic ink-jet recording wherein improved stability and speed of operation are achieved by use of an ink having a viscosity ratio satisfying the relative .mu.R/.mu.H&gt;10, where .mu.R represents the viscosity of the ink at 20.degree. C. and .mu.H represents the viscosity of the ink at a temperature between 70.degree. C. and 200.degree. C.

Thermal electrostatic ink-jet recording method

There is provided a method and apparatus for recording an image on a recording member, e.g., a sheet of paper, wherein a liquid coloring agent, e.g., an ink, is arranged in a recording head and electric and thermal energies are applied to the coloring agent to jet out that portion of the coloring agent located in the area to which both energies have been applied. Both energies preferably are simultaneously applied in a pulsatile manner and controlled to apply them to the coloring agent so that droplets of the agent are directed toward the recording member to provide stable, high speed recording.

Thermal-electrostatic ink jet recording method and apparatus

An ink-jet recording head wherein thermal energy and an electroelastic field are applied to ink held between two plate members to cause the ink to be jetted out from an orifice defined by the plate members wherein there is provided, on the orifice-side end portion of each of the plate members adjacent the orifice, a first area readily wettable by the ink and a second area away from the orifice which is less wettable by the ink.
