A vacuum booster for use with a vehicle anti-locking brake system to constitute a traction control system for preventing the slip operation of the vehicle driving wheel during starting or accelerating the vehicle, comprising a main opposing pressure chamber, an auxiliary opposing pressure chamber, a continuous pressure chamber, an operation rod and a pair of valves for independently controlling each of the main and auxiliary opposing pressure chambers so that control of the slip operation of the vehicle driving wheel can be performed without depressing the vehicle brake pedal.

Vacuum booster

The pin type disc brake in which a guide pin is inserted from a boss hole of a second extension arm of a caliper to a boss hole of a first extension arm thereof, the guide pin has a threaded end to which a nut is screwed, a member for preventing the guide pin from moving along the axis of the disc is fitted in a recessed portion formed on the first extension arm of the caliper, and a member for preventing the guide pin from rotating is abutted against a flat surface of an abutment portion formed on the first extension arm of the caliper.

Pin type disc brake

The brake control system for use in a vehicle includes a compression cylinder device and a decompression cylinder device, which communicate with a fluid passage between a gate valve and a wheel cylinder. A compression piston is reciprocately disposed inside of the compression cylinder device and a decompression piston is reciprocately disposed inside of the decompression cylinder device. A close valve of a normally close type is provided between the fluid passage and the decompression cylinder device. The system further includes a valve system provided between an accumulator and the compression and decompression cylinder devices. The valve system is provided for selectively supplying the hydraulic pressure in the accumulator to the compression and the decompression cylinder devices during skid-preventing and acceleration slip-preventing controls.

Brake control system and method for a vehicle

A brake booster which is capable of appropriately varying the amplifying ratio thereof according to information on a brake pedalling force obtained as an input of a brake system and information on deceleration of the vehicle obtained as an output of the brake system.

Brake control device

A hydraulic booster with an antiskid device, comprising a hydraulic booster type pedal responsive device arranged to introduce from an accumulated pressure source, hydraulic pressure the level of which is determined depending on a pedalling force applied to a brake pedal, a master cylinder type control hydraulic pressure generating device which generates control hydraulic pressure according to the hydraulic action of the introduced hydraulic pressure, and a slave cylinder device arranged to generate braking hydraulic pressure by a power piston which moves by receiving the control hydraulic pressure at one end. The slave cylinder device includes an antiskid fluid chamber arranged to exert hydraulic pressure on the power piston in the direction of returning the power piston, and an antiskid control solenoid operated valve device which is disposed in a transmission line for transmitting the introduced hydraulic pressure of the pedal responsive device and is arranged to supply and discharge a pressure fluid to and from the antiskid fluid chamber on the basis of an antiskid signal input.

Hydraulic booster with antiskid device

A brake system with a hydraulic booster type braking hydraulic pressure generator includes a hydraulic pressure control device for controlling pressure in a first brake channel of a hydraulic pressure source, the control depends on a force exerted on a brake pedal. A hydraulic pressure generating device generates the hydraulic pressure of a second brake channel proportional to the hydraulic pressure in the first brake channel; and a fail-safe fluid chamber is capable of generating fail-safe hydraulic pressure in response to the motion of a piston depending on the force exerted on the brake pedal. A switch valve device is interposed between the fail-safe fluid chamber and a reservoir opens while receiving the hydraulic pressure of the first brake channel during brake application; and a hydraulic cylinder device generates braking hydraulic pressure of the first brake channel by either the hydraulic pressure generated at the fail-safe fluid chamber or the hydraulic pressure of the hydraulic pressure control device. In addition, a first valve of a normally-open type is disposed between the output side of the hydraulic pressure control device and an input chamber formed at one end of the power piston; and a second valve is disposed between the input chamber and a reservoir, with the first and second valves controlled by a signal from a control circuit detecting a skidding state of the wheels of a vehicle.

Brake system with hydraulic booster type braking hydraulic pressure

Herein disclosed is an antilock system for use with an air brake system. The antilock system comprises a hydraulic cylinder mechanism which has a piston fitted therein and connected to the actuator rod of the air brake system. Further comprised is an oil pressure system for feeding an oil pressure to the hydraulic cylinder mechanism in response to a control signal detective of the locked state of a wheel or wheels, if any, to turn the brake arm, thereby to release the braking force.

Antilock system for air brake system

A disc brake includes a rotor, an opposed pair of friction pads each arranged on an opposite side of the rotor, and a caliper which straddles the circumferential periphery of the rotor. The caliper has a pair of leg portions each arranged on an opposite side of the rotor. The caliper is arranged to push one of the friction pads against the rotor by a piston disposed within a cylinder formed in one leg portion and to push the other friction pad against the rotor on the other side with the other leg portion which is arranged to be slidable by a force of reaction to the thrusting action of the piston. A load distribution plate part is formed at the end of the piston which engages the back of the friction pad. This plate part on the piston is arranged to restrict rolling or turning of the piston around its axis by engaging the inner surface of a saddle portion of the caliper straddling the rotor.

Disc brake

A disc brake of a type having a pair of main and auxiliary guide pins for guiding a caliper in the axial direction of a rotor. The main guide pin is secured to a support while the auxiliary guide pin is removably screwed to the caliper. For replacing a pair of friction pads, the auxiliary guide pin is removed and the caliper is turned round on the main guide pin to expose the friction pads to the outside to permit access thereto.

A disc brake of the floating caliper type has a pair of laterally spaced guide pins each slidably engageable at one end within a boot provided in a receptor hole in a caliper and rigidly secured at the other end to a support plate for the caliper. For facilitating the replacement of friction pads, displacement between the support plate and one of the guide pins is provided so that in replacing the friction pads, it is only necessary to loosen one of the guide pins and then to rotate the caliper about the other guide pin.
