The method for redundancy of a wireless communication network according to the embodiment of the present invention includes: partitioning the same frequency band of a first base station transceiver subsystem and a second base station transceiver subsystem, which form redundant cell coverage, into a plurality of resource blocks; partitioning each of the partitioned resource blocks into a first frequency partition (FP) and a second frequency partition which are configured to have the same structure as each other; and transmitting and receiving, by the first base station transceiver subsystem, data using a first resource block allocated to the first frequency partition and by the second base station transceiver subsystem, data using a second resource block allocated to the second frequency partition.

A method of requesting resources, a method of allocating resources, and an apparatus therefor by using bandwidth request ranging in a mobile communication system are provided. The method of allocating uplink resources to a subscriber station by using bandwidth request ranging in a mobile communication system includes: transmitting an uplink channel descriptor (UCD) including code group information to the subscriber station, wherein the code group information is obtained by dividing a bandwidth request code into a plurality of groups and mapping the groups to predetermined data block sizes; receiving a bandwidth request code selected in the subscriber station; determining a code group including the selected bandwidth request code; and allocating a bandwidth through which a data block size corresponding to the determined code group can be transmitted, to the subscriber station. Accordingly, bandwidth request codes are divided into code groups of which bandwidth request codes represent specific block sizes, and the base station that receives the bandwidth request code allocates uplink resources corresponding to the bandwidth request code, so that it is possible to decrease a transmission delay of the uplink traffic.

A ranging method of an access terminal that requests a ranging to an access point through a wireless network and performs the ranging, the ranging method including a) initializing a ranging period, b) setting a timer with the ranging period and starting the timer, c) requesting a ranging by transmitting a given ranging code to the access point based on radio resource allocation information provided by the access point, d) receiving a ranging response message from the access point, and controlling transmission power, timing, and frequency offset of an access terminal according to transmission parameters included in the received ranging response message, e) estimating a downlink channel condition through which a signal from the access point is transmitted, f) resetting the ranging period according to the estimated downlink channel condition, and g) iteratively performing b) to f) according to the reset ranging period.

Terminal in wireless communication system and ranging method for dynamically changing ranging period thereof

An IPv6 address configuration method for a terminal in a wireless mobile network and an apparatus therefor are provided. In the wireless mobile network, an Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) address configuration apparatus is provided to a router (access control router; ACR) or a base station (radio access station; RAS). In the address configuration apparatus, a MAC access procedure is performed to extract information required for IPv6 address allocation procedure, and the address is configured by using available fields of a message. In addition, a duplicate address detector (DAD) in which the terminal directly takes part is omitted by using information on the router (ACR) or the base station (RAS). In addition, during the IPv6 address configuration procedure, in order to prevent messages of IPv6 from being transmitted in a wireless region, an agent for address configuration is provided to the terminal. The router (ACR) acquires information required for the address configuration by using a portion of fields of MAC management messages. Accordingly, in the wireless mobile network, it is possible to reduce a time taken for an initial access procedure in which an IPv6 address is allocated to the terminal and to reduce consumption of wireless resource.

Provided is a channel mode converting method of a wireless portable Internet system. When a diversity channel mode is converted into an Adaptive Modulation and Coding (AMC) channel mode, a radio resource for transmitting Channel Quality Information (CQI) is allocated without responding to a resource allocation request and a request between a terminal and an access point. Therefore, a delay time can be reduced on the channel mode conversion. In addition, a CQI channel for transmitting the existing channel quality information is released and a CQI channel for a new channel is allocated on the channel mode conversion. As a result, a time for changing the diversity channel CQI transmission to the AMC channel CQI transmission at the physical layer can be easily synchronized for transmitting the REP_RSP at the MAC.
