The present invention relates to a shift-by-wire (SBW) device and, more specifically, to an actuator and reduction gear structure of a shift-by-wire device. A shift-by-wire device according to the present invention comprises: a housing; a motor which generates torque by means of an applied current; a hollow rotor shaft; a reduction gear which receives the transmission of the torque of the motor, converts same and transmits same to an output; an output shaft which passes through inside the rotor shaft, has an encoder magnet provided on one end thereof, has the other end directly connected to a manual shaft, and transmits the torque increased by means of the reduction gear to a detent plate; and a controller disposed inside the housing and for detecting the position of the output from the encoder magnet.

Shift-by-wire device and transmission method using same

An apparatus and method of controlling an electronic continuously variable valve timing (CVVT) is provided. The apparatus includes a sensor disposed in a motor facing a reducer and an intelligent motor controller. The sensor determines a rotation speed of a first and second projection of a first and second rotation member and generates a sensing signal that corresponds to an output waveform of each rotation speed and inputs the signal to an intelligent motor controller coupled to the motor. The intelligent motor controller receives the signal and separates a crank shaft and cam shaft position signal. The signals are compared to detect an actual phase angle of the suction or exhaust valve. A phase deviation between the detected, actual and predetermined target phase angle is calculated.

Apparatus and method of controlling electronic continuously variable valve timing

A control system of a continuously variable valve duration (CVVD) is provided. A system for controlling a CVVD by adjusting an actuator for controlling the CVVD includes an electronic control unit (ECU) configured to output a command for adjusting the actuator based on a vehicle state and a cam position sensor is configured to measure a cam revolutions per minute (RPM). A controller is configured to calculate a crank RPM from the cam RPM when a failure occurs during communication with the ECU. A target phase angle is extracted based on the calculated crank RPM, and an electric current is output that corresponds to the extracted target phase angle to the actuator.

System for controlling continuously variable valve duration and operating method thereof

A continuously variable valve timing (CVVT) control device is provided. The CVVT control device includes an engine controlling unit (ECU) configured to output an actual phase angle and a target phase angle of an intake valve or an exhaust valve. The CVVT control device further includes an intellectual motor controller configured to receive the actual phase angle and the target phase angle from the ECU through digital communication in a vehicle. A driving current is generated for adjusting an output torque of a motor based on a phase deviation between the received actual phase angle and target phase angle.

Continuous variable valve timing control device and control method therefor

A stereo disparity between a reference image and a search image for a reference pixel in the reference image is determined by (a) calculating a similarity measure between a reference window including a set of pixels centering on the reference pixel and each of a group of search windows in the search image which is of a same shape with the reference window and displaced from the reference window within a predetermined search range, wherein a matching pixel count, which is the number of pixels in the reference window which are similar in intensity to corresponding pixels in a search window, is used as the similarity measure between the reference window and the search window; and (b) determining a displacement between the reference window and a search window which yields a largest similarity measure as the stereo disparity for the reference pixel.

Method and apparatus for measuring similarity using matching pixel count

A method and apparatus for retrieving multimedia data using shape information. The multimedia data retrieval apparatus comprises a shape information feature extractor for receiving shape information of a query image and extracting a feature of the received shape information using a shape information descriptor based on eigen vectors of a multilayer covariance matrix, an image feature extractor for extracting a feature of each image data in the same manner as the shape information feature extractor, a multimedia database creator for creating a multimedia database on the basis of the features extracted by the image feature extractor, a similarity comparator for comparing the feature of the query image extracted by the shape information feature extractor with the features of the image data in the multimedia database to calculate similarities therebetween, and a compared result output unit for outputting the results calculated by the similarity comparator. Multimedia data can accurately and rapidly be retrieved by defining and using a shape information descriptor with a consistency against rotation, scaling and translation of the shape information.

Method and apparatus for retrieving multimedia data using shape information

Disclosed is a method and apparatus for searching a human three-dimensional (3D) posture which can rapidly and accurately search a human 3D posture by effectively representing the human 3D posture with a small amount of data. According to the method, a posture database is established by extracting posture descriptors using relation among respective joints of a body, and a feature of a query 3D posture is simultaneously extracted in the same manner. Then, the similarity is calculated by comparing the posture descriptor of the query 3D posture with the posture descriptors of postures in the posture database, and then outputted to search the human 3D posture.

Method and apparatus for searching human three-dimensional posture
