A liquid crystal display that can be slimly formed. The liquid crystal display may include: a liquid crystal display panel; a backlight unit including: a light source; and a light guide plate receiving light emitted from the light source and diffusing the received light; and a frame receiving the liquid crystal display panel and the backlight unit. The frame includes: a chassis including a bottom part and a side wall, the bottom part having insertion holes; and a molding that is combined with the chassis through the insertion holes. In addition, the bottom part of the chassis is formed with protrusions adjacent to the insertion holes and the protrusions protrude in a direction opposite to a direction in which the molding is combined with the insertion holes of the chassis.

A display device and a method of manufacturing the same are provided. The display device includes: a display panel; a cover on the display panel; an adhesive on at least one of the cover or the display panel to attach the cover to the display panel; and a flow prevention member on at least one of the display panel or the cover, wherein the adhesive member is arranged at an inner space of the flow prevention member.

A backlight unit having improved luminance and uniformity includes a light source and a light guide panel having a light receiving portion which receives light emitted from the light source and which has a pattern including a plurality of protrusions. Each of the protrusions has inclined surfaces forming an angle with respect to the tangential direction of the light receiving portion. The inclined surfaces include a first inclined surface relatively close to the center of the light receiving portion and a second inclined surface relatively close to the edge of the light receiving portion. A first inclination angle formed by the first inclined surface with respect to the tangential direction of the light receiving portion is smaller at the edge of the light receiving portion than at the center of the light receiving portion.

Backlight unit and liquid crystal display including the same

A display device includes a display panel, a plurality of optical sheets disposed under the display panel, a light guiding plate disposed under the optical sheets and including a light guiding protrusion protruding toward a side direction from a light guiding corner, and a support frame for supporting the display panel and including a protrusion cover in the frame corner to cover the light guiding protrusion. The height of an upper surface of the protrusion cover is preferably no less than the height of an upper surface of the optical sheets. The display device prevents the problem in molding of the protrusion cover of the support frame by increasing the thickness of the protrusion cover. Accordingly, a small-sized thin film light guiding plate can be applied to the display device so that luminance of the display device can be improved, and the thickness of the display device can be reduced.

Display device having reduced thickness and improved luminance

A liquid crystal display (LCD) that includes: an LCD panel; a backlight unit that includes a light source and a light guide plate; and a frame that houses the LCD panel and the backlight unit. The frame includes first support members that at least partially form opposing sides of the frame, and a first guide unit that includes protrusions that project inside the frame, to separate the LCD panel from the first support members.

A liquid crystal display device has an improved end reinforcing structure of a chassis. The liquid crystal display device comprises: a liquid crystal panel for realizing an image; a backlight unit for irradiating a backlight on the liquid crystal panel; a mold frame for storing the backlight unit; a first chassis for supporting the mold frame and including a hemming processor which is bent at an end of the first chassis so as to have a double thickness; and a reinforcing member installed so that the thickness of the hemming processor is increased. Accordingly, the intensity of the end of the first chassis may be increased, thereby guaranteeing strong durability against an external shock.
