A vehicle speed estimating apparatus includes a vehicle information receiver configured to receive travel information of a vehicle including a wheel speed, a motor torque, and a longitudinal acceleration of the vehicle, a wheel slip determiner configured to determine whether wheel slip occurs, a longitudinal acceleration calibrator configured to calibrate the longitudinal acceleration received from the vehicle information receiver, and a vehicle speed estimator configured for estimating, depending on a determination result of the wheel slip determiner, a vehicle speed using the wheel speed or the calibrated longitudinal acceleration.

A driving force adjusting device includes an input unit configured for receiving an input of a selection distribution ratio, which is a ratio of driving force generation of front wheels and rear wheels selected by a user, a receiving unit configured for receiving driving information of a vehicle, a driving force determination unit configured for determining a driving force distribution ratio, which is a driving force generation ratio of the front wheels and the rear wheels, and determining driving force of the front wheels and the rear wheels using the driving force distribution ratio, and a driving control unit configured for controlling a driving unit generating driving force of the vehicle based on the driving force determined by the driving force determination unit.

An apparatus for estimating a friction coefficient of a road surface is provided. The apparatus includes a current sensor configured to measure a control current value of a rear wheel steering (RWS) motor, a stroke sensor configured to measure a stroke value indicating a movement amount of a rear wheel steering link, and a controller configured to estimate the friction coefficient of the road surface based on the control current value measured by the current sensor and the stroke value measured by the stroke sensor.

Apparatus for estimating friction coefficient of road surface and method thereof

An apparatus for controlling driving of a vehicle is provided. The apparatus includes: a sensor to sense an environment outside of the vehicle, a positioning device to measure a current position of the vehicle, and a controller to calculate a first weighted time to collision with another vehicle using an accident severity index obtained based on the environment outside the vehicle and the current position of the vehicle and to control collision avoidance based on the calculated first weighted time to collision. The apparatus performs strong control to avoid a collision in an external environment incapable of being sensed by a sensor, thus reducing occurrence of an accident of the vehicle and damage due to the accident of the vehicle.
