A backup power supply 7 is connected to a load via a switching circuit. When the supply of electric power from a main power supply is stopped, the backup power supply 7 supplies electric power to the load 8. When a given manual operation is performed, the switching circuit disconnects the backup power supply 7 from the load 8. When electric power is supplied form the main power supply 6 to the load 8, the switching circuit connects the preliminary power supply 7 to the load 8. The switching circuit is powered by the backup power supply 7.

An overtone crystal oscillator includes a crystal vibrator, a CMOS circuit connected in parallel to the crystal vibrator, and two load capacitors connected to the input and output of the CMOS circuit, respectively. An electronic timepiece suitable for use as a worldtime clock having a main display section adapted to perform a display of the particular time selected from among a plurality of kinds of time and a sub-display section adapted to perform a display of another time selected from among the other kinds of time than that displayed in the main display section. Means are provided for selective setting and correction all of the times.

Electronic timepiece

An electronic timepiece in which scheduled time data on specified date or on specified day of the week are set into a counter and their contents are displayed. When the scheduled time comes, an alarm sound is generated. If specific data are inserted instead of the instruction data representative of the date or the day of the week, the timepiece generates the alarm sound repeatedly at the scheduled time. A number of scheduled contents can be set using the same circuit construction and set action for generating repeatedly the alarm sound can be made easily.

The disclosed is an electronic timepiece which has storage circuits for respectively storing data regarding a variety of times such as an alarm time for different operating modes, stop watch, timer, etc., a data processing circuit commonly provided for all the storage circuits for executing various time processes, and a control circuit for controlling a mutual transfer of the data between the respective storage circuits and the data processing circuit to selectively process the various times. Accordingly, this timepiece can process a large number of times without increasing the number of the time processing circuits.

Multi-function electronic timepiece

An alarm timepiece operates such that after an acoustic alarm generated at a preset alarm time has been stopped, the alarm timepiece is automatically so set as to regenerate the acoustic alarm at the next preset alarm time. The generation of the acoustic alarm is compulsorily stopped during the adjusting of time, and when the acoustic alarm is stopped by manipulating a manual switch for suspension, the acoustic alarm is regenerated after a predetermined time has elapsed. When the acoustic alarm is generated for a predetermined time without being stopped by means of a manual switch, it is automatically stopped.

Alarm timepiece

An electronic timer includes a presettable counter for continuously counting clock pulses and which is controlled to selectively count to a desired time count and to continuously count from that desired time count. A storage device stores, upon actuation, a time count counted by the presettable counter. A detection output is produced when the presettable counter has completed the counting from the desired time count therein to a given time count. An alarm is generated in response to the detection output and is thereafter stopped. In response to the stopping of the alarm, the presettable counter is preset with the time count stored in the storage device. In this way the presettable counter is automatically set to an initial time count to enable repeated use without complication.

Electronic timer

A time adjusting device for an electronic timepiece utilizes a manually rotatable mechanism which generates pulses corresponding in frequency and number with the speed and extent of rotation thereof. Each pulse which is generated is thereafter converted into a plurality of pulses. A manually actuatable switch applies either the normal periodic time pulses to a time counter or the plurality of pulses to the time counter upon actuation to adjust the time count therein.

Time adjusting means for electronic timepiece which detects change in the generation condition of pulses generated in response to a manual operation speed and generates a predetermined number of pulses in accordance with the detection output as the time-adjusting pulses. The time adjusting means enables a rapid time adjustment of an electronic timepiece at a high speed. When the manual operation speed exceeds a predetermined speed, the time adjusting means stops the time-adjusting pulse so as to prevent erroneous operation.

A controlling device which takes out an electrical signal including, as its component, a natural frequency that is produced with grinding of a piezo-electric element, and makes the signal pass through two filters possessing equivalent damping amount at a desired natural frequency so as to bring the grinding operation to a stop when the dc conversion outputs of both filters coincide with each other.

A device for controlling the grinding of a piezo-electric element is designed to convert the frequency of an electric signal produced with grinding of a piezo-electric element into a lower frequency, using frequency converters and a local oscillator and then to select, by means of filters, a frequency generated from the frequency converters at the time when a desired grinding of a piezo-electric element has been obtained so as to bring the grinding operation to a stop in response to the selected signal.
