A decorative tree comprises a base, a pole inserted in the base, and plural hoops that are pivotably connected in series prior to complete assembly of the tree. The lowest hoop is attached to the outer rim of the base, an uppermost hoop is provided to connect toward the top of the pole, and one or more intermediate hoops are interposed between the lowest and uppermost hoops. Each hoop has a pivotable connection to an adjacent hoop. The connection of a particular hoop to a lower adjacent hoop is formed on one side of the hoop and a connection of that particular hoop to an upper adjacent hoop is formed on a substantially opposite side of the hoop. Upon complete assembly of the tree, the uppermost hoop is extended toward the top of the tree and the hoops are expanded upward so as to form a decorative pattern of hoops with alternating angular orientations. The hoops may be of one or more shapes and sizes and may be wrapped with light strips to illuminate the tree.

An assemblable string tree wherein, when completely assembled, a pole vertically supports a hanger above a base with light strings extending generally downwardly and outwardly between hanger engagements and base engagements such that the light strings cumulatively provide the general appearance of an upright truncated cone.

A twinkle bulb light set includes, alternately from one end of the light set to an opposite end of the light set, at least one standard bulb socket configured and dimensioned to operatively receive a standard or steady-burning bulb and at least one non-standard bulb socket configured and dimensioned to operatively receive a non-standard twinkle bulb. The standard and non-standard bulb sockets are configured and dimensioned to operatively receive only standard and non-standard bulbs, respectively. Preferably the standard bulb socket is smaller than the non-standard bulb socket in at least one dimension such that the standard bulb socket cannot operatively receive a non-standard bulb, and the non-standard bulbs have at least one dimension greater than that of the standard bulbs, thereby to preclude operative receipt of a non-standard bulb in a standard bulb socket.

Twinkle light set

A twinkle bulb light set includes, alternately from one end of the light set to an opposite end of the light set, a plurality of standard bulb sockets, each configured and dimensioned to operatively receive a standard bulb, whether a steady burning bulb or twinkle bulb, and at least one fuse bulb socket configured and dimensioned to operatively receive a fuse bulb. The standard bulb sockets are configured and dimensioned to releasably operatively receive only standard bulbs, and the fuse bulb socket is configured and dimensioned to non-releasably operatively receive a fuse bulb.

Fuse bulb twinkle light set

A net light set includes a first common wire means extending in a first (horizontal) direction, the first common wire means including lengths of a bypass wire and a return wire. A plurality of series-connected light strings extend physically parallel to each other and in a second (vertical) direction transverse to the first direction. Each light string includes a plurality of lamp sockets and a plurality of intermediate lengths of a single active wire connecting the lamp sockets in series. In each of the light strings intermediate the first and last light strings, the single active wire is twisted together intermediate the lamp sockets only with a first non-wire extending in the second direction for enhanced tensile strength. At least one second non-wire extends in the first direction and physically connects intermediate lengths of each light string with corresponding intermediate lengths of other light strings.

Net light set with single active wire

An economical method of making a net or mesh light with light nodes includes the step of providing a light set having a common wire collection extending in a first direction, the common wire collection including an active wire and a return wire. A plurality of series-connected light strings extend physically parallel to each other and in a second direction substantially transverse to the first direction, each light string including a plurality of lamp sockets and a plurality of intermediate lengths of wire connecting the lamp sockets in series. Plug means are disposed at one end of the common wire collection and include the active and return wires. Then at least one non-electrical rope is physically fastened to the lamp sockets of the plurality of light strings removed a common distance along the second direction from the common wire collection, thereby forming a net or mesh.
