A photoelectric conversion device including a photoelectric converter, a transparent cover, an insulating material layer and a photonic crystal layer is provided. The photoelectric converter is adapted to receive a light. The transparent cover is disposed on a side of the photoelectric converter. The insulating material layer is disposed between the photoelectric converter and the transparent cover. The photonic crystal layer is disposed between the insulating material layer and the transparent cover, wherein the material of the photonic crystal layer is different from the material of the insulating material layer.

Photoelectric conversion device

A method of generating an optical radiation signal is to be implemented by an optical radiation signal generating device including a dual beam generating unit for receiving an original optical input signal, and a second-order fiber Bragg grating (FBG). The dual-beam generating unit is configured to generate, from the original optical input signal, first and second optical input signals having a phase difference therebetween. The second-order FBG is configured to receive the first and second optical input signals, and to radiate an optical radiation signal by interference between the first and second optical input signals.

Optical radiation signal generating device and tranceiving system, and method of generating an optical radiation signal

An optical fiber communication method for communication between a transmitting terminal and a receiving terminal includes the steps of: providing an optical fiber to be coupled to the transmitting terminal and including a core that is provided with at least one second-order Bragg grating structure and a cladding that surrounds the core; configuring the transmitting terminal to output a data-carrying optical signal to one end of the core of the optical fiber for subsequent wireless transmission of the data-carrying optical signal via radiation through the second-order Bragg grating structure of the optical fiber; and configuring the receiving terminal to receive the signal radiated by the second-order Bragg grating structure of the optical fiber. A transmitting device is also disclosed.

Optical fiber communication method and transmitting device

A light extracting device includes a dual light generating unit and a first order Bragg grating unit. The dual light generating unit is for receiving an input optical signal and a control signal, and for generating from the input optical signal first and second optical signals that have a phase difference there between. The phase difference is associated with the control signal. The first order Bragg grating unit is for receiving the first and second optical signals from the dual light generating unit, and for causing optical interference to occur between the first and second optical signals within a predetermined wavelength range to result in first and second output optical signals.

Light extracting device and light extracting method

A QPM waveguide includes an optical substrate having periodic domain-inverted regions and non-inverted regions which are arranged alternately, and a waveguide part passing through the domain-inverted regions and non-inverted regions. The substrate is divided into at least two sections each of which has a wave input facet and a wave output facet. At least one band-pass filter layer is disposed on the wave input facet of one section to filter out a signal wave for preventing back conversion so that the energy of the conversion wave can increase. A method for preventing the back conversion is also disclosed.

Quasi-phase matched optical waveguide for preventing back conversion

A chirp optical waveguide includes a chirp grating formed in a ferroelectric substrate, and a waveguide part orthogonal to the chirp grating. The chirp grating has a plurality of grating segments and has a normalized grating period &#x39b;x/&#x39b;that increases exponentially in each grating segment and decreases stepwise from each grating segment to a following one of the grating segments, where &#x39b;is an initial grating period at the wave propagation distance of zero, and &#x39b;x is a grating period at the wave propagation distance of x. The chirp grating provides high wave conversion efficiency for short pulse widths and effectively compensates for a reduction in conversion efficiency due to chromatic dispersion.
