An ejecting device for a card connector includes a base, a slide member, a first ejecting spring, a second ejecting spring, and retaining means. The base has an insertion slot having an opening end. The slide member is slidably mounted in the insertion slot of the base. The first ejecting spring has two ends contacting against the base and the slide member respectively. The second ejecting spring has two ends fixed to the base and the slide member respectively. The retaining means is mounted between the base and the slide member. Accordingly, the first and second springs can cause double ejections of the slide member to lengthen the stroke of the slide member, thus enabling the user to operate the card connector conveniently.

Ejecting device for card connector

A card connector is comprised of a base, a stop member, an elastic member, and at least one retaining tongue. The base bilaterally includes two lateral frames and a plurality of terminals. The stop member is pivotably mounted to the two lateral frames for pivoting movement between a stopping position and an entrance position. The elastic member is mounted between one of said lateral frames and said stop member. The retaining tongue includes a retaining portion for movement between a releasing position and a retaining position by insertion or extraction of the card, thereby optionally jamming the stop member, namely, while the card is correctly inserted, the card can pass through the stop member; while the card is incorrectly inserted, the stop member stops the card from entrance to further protect the terminals from damage resulted from the impact of the card.

Card connector capable of avoiding erroneous insertion of card

An electrical connector is provided which includes an insulative housing with an electrical contact inserted therein. The electrical contact includes a solder tail at one end, a deflectable wiping element at the other end, and an elongate contact body therebetween. The contact body includes a deflectable tang acutely extending therefrom. The tang engages a locking shoulder in the cavity so as to prevent the removal of the contact from the cavity. An access aperture in the housing communicates with the cavity to allow deflecting engagement of the tang away from the locking shoulder so that the contact may be removed from the cavity.

Electrical connector with a releasable housing

A multi-storage deck connector apparatus having at least an upper and lower storage deck is connectable to a printed circuit board. Each deck has its own set of contact pins that must make electrical connection to the printed circuit board. A vertical connector is arranged between the storage decks so that the upper storage deck contact pins are connected to the vertical connector and the vertical connector is connected to the printed circuit board. The lower storage deck contact pins are connected directly to the printed circuit board.

Multi-storage deck connector apparatus

A connector device includes a housing having a slide plate with a handle. By the manual operation of the handle, the slide plate is moved by a disengageable link mechanism along the length of the housing. When a data storage medium is fully inserted in the connector device and the handle is in a first position, the link mechanism is disengaged. The link mechanism becomes engaged, and thereby operable to move the slide plate, only after the handle is moved from the first position to an extended position. In this manner, inadvertent ejection of the data storage medium is prevented.

Connector device

An electrical connector includes an insulative housing having at least one elongate aperture and an electrical contact insertable therethrough. The contact includes a first end extending externally through a first end of said aperture and an opposed second end extending externally through a second end of said aperture. The contact further includes a deformable flange adjacent said first end of the contact for expanded deformation so as to prevent removal of said contact from said housing aperture in a direction opposite said direction of insertion.

Electrical connector with pin retention

A cover is employed with an edge mount electrical header connector to secure the header connector to a printed circuit board during soldering. The header connector includes plural electrical contacts supported in an insulative housing. The contacts include extending solder tails for engagement with solder pads of the printed circuit board. The cover includes an elongate insulative body for attachment to the header connector. The body of the cover includes gripper arms extending therefrom and being in spaced opposition to the extending solder tails. The solder tails and the gripper arms form a space therebetween for receiving an edge of the printed circuit board. The gripper arms and solder tails retain the printed circuit board edge so as to permit secure soldering of the solder tails to the solder pads of the printed circuit board.

Cover for an edge mounted printed circuit board connector

A cover is employed with an edge mount electrical header connector to secure the header connector to a printed circuit board during soldering. The header connector includes plural electrical contacts supported in an insulative housing. The contacts include extending solder tails for engagement with solder pads of the printed circuit board. The cover includes an elongate insulative body for attachment to the header connector. The body of the cover includes gripper arms extending therefrom and being in spaced opposition to the extending solder tails. The solder tails and the gripper arms form a space therebetween for receiving an edge of the printed circuit board. The gripper arms and solder tails retain the printed circuit board edge so as to permit secure soldering of the solder tails to the solder pads of the printed circuit board. The removable cover may be employed over a device bay plug to cover exposed contacts during the soldering process. The device bay plug may then be connected to a device bay receptacle.

Flat back card connector

An electrical connector has an insulating housing with contact terminals which extend therethrough. The contact terminals are provided to electrically connect a mother board to a daughter board. A board-receiving opening is provided in the housing for reception of the daughter board therein. A pair of latch members are provided on the housing for latching the daughter board to take a predetermined posture with respect to the mother board. A pair of restricting metal plates are mounted on the housing for restricting the latch members from being flexed in a direction to move the paired latch members away from each other. A spring is provided in the board-receiving opening for enabling a spring force to be applied to the daughter board in a direction to urge the daughter board into the predetermined posture against a push force by the daughter board received in the board-receiving opening.
