Scheduling full-duplex transmissions includes configuring adjacent time slots of an air interface resource with different ratios of uplink portions, downlink portions, and flexible portions, scheduling transmissions in each adjacent time slot based on whether or not the transmissions are latency-sensitive or delay-sensitive or control transmissions. The uplink portions, downlink portions, and flexible portions comprise symbols within time slots of a subframe, and can vary based on a numerology. The flexible portions are symbols configured to simultaneously transmit uplink data and downlink data.

Scheduling full-duplex transmissions in 5G networks

A method of dynamic beam blanking in a network including an aerospace access point is provided. Multiple antenna beams may be provided in addition to a primary antenna beam. First a determination of an antenna beamwidth of a primary antenna beam is made. The antenna beamwidth is based on a usage threshold of the primary antenna beam. When the antenna beamwidth is above the usage threshold at least one dynamic antenna beam blanking commend is generated for at least one first neighboring co-channel antenna beam used by at least one second user device. The second user device is then directed to at least one second neighboring co-channel antenna beam that is not affected by the dynamic antenna beam blanking command. The blanked first neighboring co-channel antenna beam is then added to the primary antenna beam.

Dynamic beam blanking and spectrum reservation for direct to cell mobile satellite communications

A multi-stack phased antenna array system is provided for enhancing wireless signal performance in a network. The system includes at least two antenna element layers, each comprising a matrix of individual antenna elements. Each antenna element is electrically connected to a modular ratio combining engine configured to process signals across the array. A method of operation includes receiving at least one signal from at least one user equipment (UE) at the antenna array, wherein the signal is received by each antenna element. The received signals are adjusted in time and phase to maximize in-phase signal strength using the combining engine. At least one dielectric layer is disposed between the antenna element layers to support the stacked structure.

According to aspects herein, methods and a non-transitory computer storage medium storing computer instructions for macro diversity-based handover between low earth orbit (LEO) satellites. The method begins with receiving, at a first extraterrestrial access point and a second extraterrestrial access point at least one first uplink communication from a UE. Each extraterrestrial access point is located on a different LEO satellite. Next, a determination that the coverage area of the first LEO satellite is congruent with the coverage area of the second LEO satellite. Both the first extraterrestrial access point and the second extraterrestrial access point attempt to decode the first uplink communication. The second LEO satellite may transmit additional soft decoding bits to the first LEO satellite. The first uplink communication is decoded using the soft decoding bits from the first LEO satellite and the additional soft decoding bits from the second LEO satellite.

Systems and methods are provided for dynamically activating and deactivating hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ). The system includes a base station, user equipment (UE), and a processor. The method provides for determining a first signal quality measurement for the signal quality between the base station and the UE. The first signal quality measurement is then compared with a predetermined signal quality threshold. If the first signal quality measurement is below the predetermined signal quality threshold the UE is directed to activate HARQ. If the first signal quality measurement is above the predetermined signal quality threshold the UE is directed to deactivate HARQ if HARQ is currently active.

Multiple 4G and/or 5G data links are established for each communication layer using a separate domain code channel between a node and a single user telecommunications device.

Systems and methods are provided herein the dynamically select a special subframe used in communication between a cell site and a user equipment (UE). The method begins with determining radio interference metrics for a cell site being used for communication with a UE. A time of flight metric is also determined for the cell site. Based on the radio interference metrics and the time of flight metrics, a gap in a special subframe is adjusted. The special subframe provides two configurations, with a first special subframe having a greater number of gap subframes than the second special subframe.

The method additionally includes disabling a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) retransmission mechanism for the wireless device based on the determination that the SINR at the wireless devices meets the predetermined threshold.

Systems and methods are provided for uplink quality enhancement. Methods include experiencing a triggering condition at a wireless device in a network and identifying at least one additional wireless device in the network within a threshold proximity to the wireless device experiencing the triggering condition. The method additionally includes forming a group with the at least one additional wireless device using a communication link and pooling uplink resources with the at least one additional wireless device to improve uplink performance of the wireless device experiencing the triggering condition.

Uplink performance using multiple wireless devices

Methods, systems, and access nodes associate a corresponding unique code with multiple access nodes and multiplex data with each of the corresponding unique codes. Further, the multiplexed data is transmitted from each of the multiple access nodes to a donor node. At the donor node, a unique donor code is assigned and is multiplexed with the donor node data. Aspects provided herein to provide methods, systems, and a non-transitory computer storage media storing computer-useable instructions to eliminate overlapping spectrum interference. The method begins with assigning a first portion of contiguous spectrum to a first user equipment. A second portion of contiguous spectrum is assigned to a second user equipment. The first portion of contiguous spectrum and the second portion of contiguous spectrum overlap at least partially. Based on the partial overlap, the first user equipment is instructed to communicate on the first portion of contiguous spectrum using a first code and the second user equipment is instructed to communicate on the second portion of contiguous spectrum using a second code. The use of the first code and the second code eliminate interference in the partial overlapping spectrum.

Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to systems and methods for polarization division multiple access. A polarized antenna system having a plurality of differently-polarized antennas is envisioned for wirelessly communicating with a plurality of user devices in a wireless network environment. Each polarized pair of antenna elements, using a particular frequency, will transmit signals using a polarization-frequency pair and a base station will instruct user devices which polarization-frequency pair they should tune to for processing the appropriate downlink signal. Using OFDMA with a polarized antenna system increases capacity without the need for deploying additional base stations.
