Embodiments of the invention provide for executing a batch process on a repository of information. According to one embodiment, executing a batch process can comprise presenting one or more aspects of records of the repository and receiving a selection of a criteria for at least one aspect of the records. Records matching the selected criteria can be identified and a summary of the information can be presented. The batch process can comprise one of a plurality of batch processes. In such a case, a selection of the batch process can be received and parameters of the batch process can be populated with the selected criteria. The batch process can then be executed with the parameters. For example, executing the batch process can comprise generating a report based on the parameters and the records of the repository.

A method, computer system, and graphical user interface for presenting an interactive hierarchy and indicating entry of information therein is disclosed. An interactive hierarchy is used to organize information using nodes arranged in multiple levels, where the interactive hierarchy may also be used to select a node to operate on. The interactive hierarchy may provide sense-of-place by depicting the organization of the nodes and indicating which node a user is operating on. An indicator is also provided which indicates whether one or more types of information have been entered for a given node, level of nodes, etc., thereby providing sense-of-task by enabling a user to determine which types of information have already been entered, which types of information have yet to be entered, etc. Further, a task indicator may be provided for stepping users through various information entry and/or management tasks, thereby further improving sense-of-task.

Method, system, and graphical user interface for presenting an interactive hierarchy and indicating entry of information therein

A method and computer system for processing log file data, as well as to a graphical user interface for presenting the processed log file data is disclosed. Embodiments provide convenient mechanisms for processing log file data to generate a hierarchical representation of the log file data which more clearly indicates relationships between functions and information about one or more functions, where the log file data is processed in accordance with tag information associated with the application. The processed log file data may then be used to render a graphical user interface which displays the structured log file data. Nodes associated with nested functions may be indented with respect to parent nodes to indicate the nested relationship between functions. Additionally, the nodes may be expanded or collapsed to more clearly display the relationship between functions, to vary the amount of information displayed, etc.

Method and system for log file processing and generating a graphical user interface based thereon

A reasonably-sized testing database instance can be efficiently replicated and maintained for a very large production database while retaining the characteristics and cross-sectional data. The performance characteristics are maintained in order to provide for proper testing of the production database for various application programs. Statistics on the type of data distribution for the customer data are obtained, allowing for parameters to be determined which can be used to store data only near the endpoints of the distribution (and/or at other key locations). In this way, a substantial amount of data skew is retained in a much smaller instance of the production database, allowing for easier performance testing, upgrade testing, etc.
