A system includes a sensor device, a hub device, and a keypad device. The keypad device is configured to operate in a keypad mode and a wireless repeater mode. In the wireless repeater mode, the keypad device is in communication with the hub device and in direct communication with the sensor device such that the keypad device, in the wireless repeater mode, acts as a wireless repeater between the hub device and the sensor device.

An apparatus includes processing circuitry configured to output, to a plurality of devices, an initial superframe configured in an initial superframe mode of a plurality of superframe modes. Each superframe mode of the plurality of superframe modes allocating each slot of a plurality of slots for wireless communication to a first protocol, a second protocol, or a third protocol. In response to determining a change in bandwidth, the processing circuitry is configured to select an updated superframe mode from the plurality of superframe modes. The processing circuitry is further configured to output, to the plurality of devices, an updated superframe configured in the updated superframe mode.

Dynamic superframe slotting

A system includes a sensor device, a hub device, and a keypad device. The hub device is in communication with the sensor device using time divisional multiple access (TDMA) The keypad device is in communication with the hub device. The keypad device is configured to operate in: a keypad mode and a wireless repeater mode. In the keypad mode, the keypad device is in communication with the hub device but not in direct communication with the sensor device. In the wireless repeater mode, the keypad device is in communication with the hub device and in direct communication with the sensor device using TDMA such that the keypad device, in the wireless repeater mode, acts as a wireless repeater between the hub device and the sensor device.

An apparatus includes processing circuitry configured to output a first superframe configured in an initial superframe mode that allocates each slot of a plurality of slots for wireless communication to a first protocol at a first frequency band, a second protocol at the first frequency band, or a third protocol at the first frequency band. The processing circuitry is also configured to output a second superframe configured in a multi-frequency superframe mode that allocates: i) at least one slot of a plurality of slots for wireless communication to the first protocol, the second protocol, or the third protocol at the first frequency band, and ii) at least one slot of the plurality of slots for wireless communication to the first protocol, the second protocol, or the third protocol at the second frequency band.

Dynamic, multi-frequency superframe slotting

Systems and methods for avoiding interference are provided. Such systems and methods can include receiving wireless network information from a first access point, the wireless network information identifying any channels used by any WiFi networks detected by a first access point, identifying any second information channel sequences used by any second access points located within a predetermined distance of the first access point, identifying and allocating a first information channel sequence to be used by the first access point so that no channels in the first information channel sequence overlap with any of the channels used by the WiFi networks or with the second information channel sequences, identifying and allocating a first operating channel sequence to be used by the first access point based on the first information channel sequence, and transmitting the first information channel sequence and the first operating channel sequence to the first access point.

Systems and methods for allocating wireless communication channels

A device includes communication circuitry configured to establish, with an external device, a wireless channel according to a connection protocol and exchange, via the wireless channel and with the external device, network parameters for establishing a BLUETOOTH channel that is different from the wireless channel. The BLUETOOTH channel is established according to a BLUETOOTH protocol different from the connection protocol. The communication circuitry is further configured to establish, with the external device, the BLUETOOTH channel using the network parameters. To establish the BLUETOOTH channel, the communication circuitry is configured to refrain from advertising the network parameters via the BLUETOOTH channel. The communication circuitry is further configured to exchange, via the BLUETOOTH channel and with the external device, data.

Systems and methods for reducing interference in a TDMA based wireless network are provided. Such systems and methods can include a wireless access point forming a wireless network, the wireless access point selecting a first information channel, a second information channel, and a plurality of operating channel sequences from a plurality of wireless network channels used by the wireless network, the wireless access point assigning a first operating channel sequence of the plurality of operating channel sequences to the wireless access point and a second operating channel sequence of the plurality of operating channel sequences to a wireless repeater, the wireless access point hopping between each one of the first operating channel sequence in different ones of superframes used by the wireless network, and the wireless repeater hopping between each one of the second operating channel sequence in the different ones of the superframes.

Systems and methods for reducing interference in a TDMA based wireless network

Systems and methods are provided that include a control panel of a security system receiving results from a scan of first operating channels of a first wireless protocol conducted a plurality of wireless security sensors, determining which of second operating channels of a second wireless protocol include wireless communication, determining that a first of the first operating channels of the first wireless protocol fails to overlap with the second operating channels of the second wireless protocol that include the wireless communication, determining whether the results from the scan indicate that the first of the first operating channels of the first wireless protocol includes interference at any of the plurality of wireless security sensors, and migrating the wireless communication with the plurality of wireless security sensors to the first of the first operating channels of the first wireless protocol.

Systems and methods for cooperative network management

A computer processor implemented method () is provided to control network parameters for a plurality of networked control panels () for wireless security/control systems (). Each of the networked control panels using wireless signals () to monitor and control a unique set of monitored electronic devices (). The method includes the steps of: (a) transmitting an electronic signal () from a control panel () to a central computer processor (), the electronic signal () providing data indicating a physical location of the control panel (); and (b) in response to the electronic signal (), the central processor () automatically assigning a Personal Area Network ID and channel number () to the control panel that do not conflict with any networked control panel near the physical location of the control panel ().

System and method for controlling network parameters for a plurality of home security/home system control panels

A system is provided that includes a base station of a security system having a wireless transceiver, a processor of the base station that periodically transmits a beacon under a 6LowPan/Iot protocol defining an information transfer super frame having a plurality of time division multiple access (TDMA) slots, a plurality of remotely located devices, each with a sound transducer and a wireless transceiver that exchanges messages with the base station within the TDMA slots of the super frame, and a respective processor within each of the plurality of remotely located devices that determines a sound activation pattern and a location of a multicast slot within the super frame from the beacon, detects an activation message within the multicast slot, and activates the sound transducer based upon the location of the multicast slot in accordance with the sound activation pattern.
