A wireless LAN device for wirelessly communicating using a specific frequency channel shared by a radar and a wireless LAN system. The wireless LAN device includes a plurality of antennas; a wireless communication unit including a plurality of transceiver circuits respectively provided for each of the plurality of antennas; and a controller that controls the wireless communication unit. The wireless communication unit wirelessly communicates in accordance with a multiple input multiple output (MIMO) scheme by the plurality of transceiver circuits, and the controller controls the wireless communication unit to execute radar wave monitoring on a frequency channel different from a frequency channel in use for wireless communication using one of the plurality of transceiver circuits when the frequency channel in use for the wireless communication is the specific frequency channel.

Wireless LAN device and controlling method thereof

A transmitting apparatus for transmitting user data, includes: an establishing section that establishes three or more transmission paths for a receiving apparatus; a first generation section that generates a user data unit which includes user data to be transmitted to the receiving apparatus; and a second generation section that generates an error correction data unit which includes error correction data to be used for error correction of the user data to be transmitted to the receiving apparatus. At least one of the three or more transmission paths transmits the error correction data unit, and at least two of the three or more transmission paths transmits the user data unit.

Transmitting apparatus and transmission method

An access point establishing a wireless LAN is constructed to have a monitor system 'b' for monitoring an available channel for communication, in addition to a communication system 'a'. In the event of detection of radar/radio signals, the access point changes a communication channel used for wireless communication from a current active channel to the monitored channel. Each terminal belonging to the wireless LAN recognizes and follows this channel change by detection of a beacon broadcasted by the access point. In the case of non-detection of radar/radio signals for one minute at the monitored channel, the wireless communication is reestablished immediately at the monitored channel recognized as a CAC (channel availability check)-finished channel. This series of processing is also applicable to inter-access point communication, for example, communication in a WDS (wireless distribution system) mode. This arrangement desirably prevents the potential interruption of wireless communication in a 5 GHz frequency band for a significant period, in the event of detection of radar/radio signals, for example, a weather radar.

An antenna device for wireless LAN of the present invention includes a base module and an antenna case that receives a built-in antenna therein. A metal reflector plate is held in a base element of the base module. The reflector plate functions to widen the range of directivity of the antenna device and thus ensures stable communication for wireless LAN. The antenna case is pivotable to the base module. The antenna is adjustable to a desired angle according to the requirement, so as to attain communication for wireless LAN.
