In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a network entity, a configuration of one or more conditional handover conditions associated with a first candidate cell. The UE may receive an indication of an operating mode associated with the first candidate cell. The UE may perform a conditional handover procedure based at least in part on the configuration of the one or more conditional handover conditions and the indication of the operating mode associated with the first candidate cell. Aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for inter-donor topology discovery in an Integrated Access and Backhaul (IAB) network during migration of an IAB-node. A method that may be performed by a first IAB-donor includes establishing a first signaling connection with an IAB-node, receiving an indication that the IAB-node has a second signaling connection with a second IAB-donor, and in response to receiving the indication: transferring, to the second IAB-donor, information related to the IAB-node, re-establishing traffic between the first IAB-donor and the IAB-node via a topology of the second IAB-donor, or any combination thereof.

In some aspects, a control node may receive, from a wireless node, a status report of an unlicensed band associated with an unlicensed channel access of the wireless node, wherein the status report indicates listen-before-talk (LBT) failures during the unlicensed channel access of the wireless node. The control node may transmit, to the wireless node, an updated configuration for unlicensed channel access based at least in part on the status report of the unlicensed band. Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Techniques described herein support transitioning the radio resource control (RRC) state of a network controlled repeater (NCR). A distributed unit (DU) and a central unit (CU) may coordinate the release and resumption of the RRC connection of the NCR. The CU may transmit a control signal to the DU indicating to release the RRC connection of the NCR. The control signal may include a flag, such as an identifier of the NCR, and the DU may retain the identifier of the NCR. The DU may transmit a message indicating a release of the RRC connection to the NCR. The DU may coordinate the resumption of the RRC connection of the NCR by transmitting a second message to the CU. The second message may include a request to initiate a paging of the NCR and may include the identifier of the NCR.

Techniques for transitioning radio resource control state of a repeater

A method for wireless communication by a UE includes receiving, from a network node, a first message indicating at least a first discontinuous reception (DRX) configuration associated with a DRX cycle at the network node. The DRX cycle may be enabled or disabled in accordance with whether the first DRX configuration is in an activated state. The method also includes receiving, from the network node, a second message indicating a group of uplink (UL) transmission configurations including at least a first UL configuration associated with the activated state of the first DRX configuration and a second UL configuration associated with the deactivated state of the first DRX configuration. The method further includes transmitting, to the network node, a third message in accordance with the first UL configuration in accordance with first DRX configuration being activated or the second UL configuration in accordance with first DRX configuration being deactivated.

Configuring uplink (UL) transmissions during cell discontinuous reception (DRX)

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A relay device operating in an unlicensed radio frequency (RF) spectrum band may receive a channel occupancy time (COT) indication from a first wireless device via a control message, a preamble sequence, or an on-off energy pattern, among other examples. Upon receiving the COT indication from the first wireless device, the relay device may perform a listen before talk (LBT) procedure. If the LBT procedure is successful, the relay device may relay signals between the first wireless device and the second wireless device. Otherwise, the relay device may refrain from relaying signals between the first wireless device and the second wireless device. The described techniques may enable the relay device to operate with greater efficiency and reduced power consumption. The described techniques may also improve the reliability of communications between the first wireless device and the second wireless device.

Techniques for smart repeater operations in unlicensed bands

A relay supporting multiple relay modes is provided. The relay transmits capability information to a base station, the capability information indicating support for a first relay mode and a second relay mode. The relay determines a mode of operation, either on its own or based on an indication of a mode of operation from the base station, wherein the mode of operation comprises the first relay mode or the second relay mode. The relay communicates with at least one of the base station or another wireless device based at least in part on the determined mode of operation.

Remote unit with a configurable mode of operation

A first network entity (e.g., a distributed unit (DU)) may receive, from a second network entity (e.g., a centralized unit (CU)), a control message indicating a common discontinuous reception (C-DRX) configuration associated with a set of user equipments (UEs) communicatively coupled to the first network entity, where the C-DRX configuration indicates a time period including an active duration and an inactive duration. The first network entity may then communicate with two or more of the set of UEs in accordance with the indicated C-DRX configuration during the active duration of the time period of the C-DRX configuration.

Techniques for discontinuous reception configurations for network energy savings

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a parent node in an integrated access and backhaul (IAB) network may transmit, to an IAB node having a mobile termination function (IAB-MT) and a distributed unit (IAB-DU), signaling indicating a set of restricted IAB-DU beams and associating the set of restricted IAB-DU beams with one or more IAB-MT beams, the set of restricted IAB-DU beams determined based on measurements related to interference caused by the IAB-DU and the IAB-MT performing a simultaneous operation in one or more simultaneous multiplexing modes. Additionally or alternatively, the parent node may perform scheduling for the IAB-MT based on signaling received from the IAB node that indicates beam-specific parameters related to a multiplexing capability for a beam pair that includes an IAB-MT beam and an IAB-DU beam associated with the IAB-MT beam. Signaling enhancements for simultaneous multiplexing in an integrated access and backhaul network

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The network may manage access to a cell on a per-beam basis. The network may indicate, for a given beam, whether a user equipment (UE) is able to access the cell via the given beam. Accordingly, the UE may access a cell using a beam that is not barred for the UE. In some examples, control signaling may include a list of each beam associated with the cell and may indicate whether each beam is barred or accessible. In some examples, control signaling include a field indicating whether the particular beam on which the control signaling was transmitted is barred. In some examples, control signaling may indicate whether a cell is barred. The UE may interpret the indication of whether the cell is barred as indicating whether the beam on which the control signaling was transmitted is barred.

Beam specific network admission

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a first integrated access and backhaul (IAB) donor central unit (CU) may transmit, to a second IAB donor CU, a resource configuration of a first cell served by an IAB node to initiate a migration of the IAB node from a first parent node to a second parent node serving a second cell associated with the second IAB donor CU. The first IAB donor CU may receive, from the second IAB donor CU, an indication that communications performed by the IAB node associated with the first cell will not conflict with communications with the second parent node serving the second cell. The first IAB donor CU may migrate the IAB node to the second parent node based at least in part on the indication. Numerous other aspects are described.

Migration of an integrated access and backhaul node

Aspects described herein relate to providing dynamic frequency division multiplexing (FDM) within a component carrier (CC) for use by integrated access and backhaul (TAB) nodes. A configuration can be communicated for each cell of the IAB node indicating multiple resource availability combinations with each resource availability combination corresponding to resource block (RB) sets over multiple slots. A downlink control information (DCI) indicating one resource availability combination of the multiple resource availability combinations for one or more cells of the IAB node can be communicated as well. The IAB node can communicate, in a slot, over one or more RB sets of the multiple configured RB sets in symbols indicated as available by the one resource availability combination.

Techniques for supporting dynamic frequency division multiplexing within carrier

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, an integrated access and backhaul (IAB) node may receive a data packet associated with a timing parameter. The IAB may insert a time stamp into the data packet, based at least in part on the timing parameter, the time stamp associated with a reference time that is known among one or more additional IAB nodes within a path associated with the data packet. A user equipment (UE) may communicate with a network entity within a first coverage area associated with a first wireless cell. The UE may receive a system information (SI) update indication that indicates a modification of the first coverage area to a second coverage area. The SI update indication may also include one or more thresholds that the UE may use to determine whether the UE is to receive an updated SI message associated with the modification of the first coverage area to the second coverage area, or whether the UE is to skip receiving the updated SI message associated with the modification of the first coverage area to the second coverage area. The UE then determines whether to receive the updated SI message based on the one or more thresholds.

Coverage adaptation and impact on idle user equipment (UE)

In some aspects, an integrated access and backhaul (IAB) node may receive, from a first IAB donor centralized unit (CU) via a first parent distributed unit (DU), a first indication to establish a first connection with a second parent DU associated with a second IAB donor CU.
