Apparatus and method for creating data path for broadcasting service in cellular network

A method and an apparatus for transmitting and receiving a paging message in a wireless communication system are provided. A Base Station (BS) transmits, to a Mobile Station (MS) in an idle mode, a Paging Group IDentification Information (PGID_Info) message including paging group information for a paging group to which the BS belongs, and frequency band-specific paging carrier information for indicating at least one of paging carriers included in each of a plurality of frequency bands operated by the BS. The BS determines a paging carrier for transmitting the paging message among paging carriers included in a frequency band supported by the MS, and transmits the paging message to the MS using the determined paging carrier. By doing so, reception of the paging message in the frequency band supported by the MS is guaranteed, thereby preventing the unnecessary location update procedure.

Method and apparatus for transmitting and receiving paging message using band information in wireless communication system

A method and a system for relocating an Access Service Network (ASN) of a Mobile Station (MS) in a communication system are provided. In the method, when an MS that operates in an idle mode moves from a first ASN to a second ASN, the MS transmits a ranging request message to a base station of the second ASN in order to update a location. The base station transmits a location update request message to an ASN-GateWay (GW) of the second ASN according to the ranging request message. An apparatus and method for providing a Multicast and Broadcast Service (MBS) in a Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) system are provided. An apparatus and a method for providing a MultiCast and BroadCast Service (MCBCS) in a Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) system are provided. The method includes receiving a message comprising information relating to a broadcast channel which carries a service guide, from a Base Station (BS), receiving service guides relating to one or more service providers over the broadcast channel using the information, when the received service guides are fragmented service guides having a certain size, generating a unified service guide by reassembling the fragmented service guides and when one service provider is selected, filtering only a service guide of the selected service provider in the unified service guide and displaying the filtered service guide in a display. Thus, the channel transition time can be reduced.
