The turbomachine comprises a casing (), there being arranged in the casing an impeller () arranged on a driven shaft. The turbomachine has an inflow region () and an outflow region () and, in operation, is flowed through by a working medium. The working medium flows into the inflow region, along a front side () formed on the impeller and subsequently out of the outflow region, there being a pressure drop at the front side between the inflow region and the outflow region. A pressure divider () is arranged on the rear side of the impeller, opposite the front side.

Turbomachine

The invention relates to an expansion machine (), comprising an output shaft () and a shaft sealing ring () that interacts with the output shaft. The expansion machine () has an inflow region () and an outflow region (). During operation, a working medium flows through the expansion machine (), wherein compressed working medium flows into the inflow region () and expanded working medium flows out of the outflow region (). The shaft sealing ring () separates a valve space () filled with working medium from a surrounding space (). A valve () is arranged in the expansion machine (). The pressure in the valve space () can be controlled by means of the valve ().

The inlet channel () and the outlet channel () are each formed as a spiral.

Device and method for the recovery of waste heat from an internal combustion engine

The invention relates to an injector, in particular, a common-rail injector for injection of fuel into a combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine. An injection valve element, adjustable between a closed position and an open position, is controllable by means of a control valve. The control valve has a control valve element, adjustable between a closed position and an open position by means of an actuator, which in the closed position is an at least almost pressure-equalized and has a sealing line which cooperates in a sealing manner with a control valve seat. The sealing line of the control valve element is lifted off the control valve seat in the open position and hence opens fuel flow from a high pressure region to a low pressure region of the injector. According to the invention, the control valve element has a support region extending over the sealing line in a radial direction to the high pressure region.

In a fuel injector for injecting fuel into a combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine, an injection valve member for opening and closing at least one injection opening is triggered by a control valve embodied as a magnet valve. On the armature of the magnet valve, a sealing face is embodied that for closing the control valve is positionable into a valve seat. The armature of the magnet valve is movable, without armature guidance, between an upper and a lower stroke stop. Because the sealing face, which for closing the control valve is positionable into the valve seat, is embodied on the armature, an additional closing element of the kind provided in the prior art can be dispensed with.

The invention relates to an area of intersection between a high-pressure chamber and a high-pressure duct. To increase the strength in the area of intersection, it is possible to round the area of intersection. The area of intersection includes at least one planar area or an area that is curved markedly less than the remaining area of intersection. The planar area may also be embodied as only nearly planar. The high-pressure chamber and the high-pressure duct are also called functional chambers. By means of the planar or nearly planar area, an intersection geometry is created, in which tensile stresses of the functional chambers that occur upon subjection to pressure are not superimposed directly and add up as they do in conventional intersection geometries. By means of the planar area in the area of intersection, it is attained that in the intersection geometry of the invention, under pressure, local pressure stresses or markedly reduced tensile stresses occur in an inner wall of the high-pressure chamber and are then superimposed with the tensile stresses in an inner wall of the high-pressure duct. Since with the intersection geometry of the invention, a tensile stress has only a reduced tensile stress or in the best case a pressure stress superimposed on it, the total is less and hence the maximum stress that occurs is reduced markedly.
