A topical composition includes a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) in an aqueous carrier system which contains a cationic galactomannan gum. The carrier system includes, in addition to water and the cationic galactomannan gum, a lactate ester of a Cto Csaturated aliphatic alcohol, a monoprotic arylalkanoic acid (pKa 3.8 to 5), a solubility enhancer, and a Cto Csaturated aliphatic alcohol.

Topical anti-inflammatory compositions

Provided herein are topical formulations. The topical formulation may comprise: (i) pregabalin, (ii) water, (iii) DMSO, (iv) a keto acid, and (v) and/or a fatty alcohol. The topical formulation may also comprise (i) pregabalin, (ii) DMSO, (iii) a keto acid and (iv) a fatty acid ester. It has been discovered that the combinations of DMSO with a keto acid such as levulinic acid and/or and a fatty acid ester such as lauryl lactate, or combinations of DMSO with a keto acid such as levulinic acid and/or with a fatty alcohol such as oleyl alcohol are excellent penetration enhancers and, as such, can be incorporated in a skin-applied formulation to facilitate administration of pregabalin.

Topical formulation

The present invention provides DMSO-containing foamable formulations, methods for preparation, and methods of treatment. The formulations can provide good permeability and bioavailability at the target site. Preferably, the formulations are useful for treating osteoarthritis. In one embodiment, the invention provides a foamable formulation for topical use, said formulation comprising DMSO, polyalkylene glycol alkyl ether, an active agent, a monohydric lower alcohol, a diol, and water. Preferably, the active agent is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, such as diclofenac sodium or ibuprofen.

Aqueous, topical compositions contain an allylamine or an azole as an antifungal agent together with a lactate ester, an organic acid (pKa 3.8-5), ethanol, water, and a cationic galactomannan gum.

The present invention relates to a topical composition and method of use, specifically an oil-in-water emulsion, comprised of sweet almond oil, lavender oil, rose oil, cinnamon bark oil, and coriander seed oil in a physiologically acceptable topical carrier. The composition is applied to a circumcised penis to enhance sensitivity, preferably twice daily for a time period of at least about two weeks. Compositions and methods for transdermal delivery of hormones and other medicinal agents

The present invention provides topical compositions, methods of preparation, and methods of treatment for onychomychosis. In certain specific embodiments, the invention provides an anti-fungal pharmaceutical composition for topical application comprising an anti-fungal agent, a zwitterionic surfactant or charged derivative thereof; a carboxylic acid, a lower alcohol, and water. The acid is selected from a short-chain hydroxy acid, a short-chain fatty acid, and a mixture thereof. In certain other specific embodiments, the invention provides an anti-fungal pharmaceutical composition for topical application comprising an anti-fungal agent, a quarternary amino acid, a keratolytic agent; a lower alcohol; and water. In certain embodiments, the keratolytic agent is urea, ammonium thioglycolate, or a mixture thereof.

Highly permeating terbinafine formulation

A topical composition, specifically an oil-in-water emulsion, comprised of ketoprofen and oxybenzone in a physiologically acceptable topical carrier. The composition is applied topically to alleviate pain, especially pain associated with migraine headache. The composition has good photostability as well as freeze/thaw stability.

Topical ketoprofen composition

The present application relates to a topical formulation comprising ibuprofen, a hydroalcoholic based solvent system, a Calcohol ester of citric acid, and a surfactant. The formulation shows physical stability over more than one month at ambient temperature and is colorless, essentially odorless, and has a pH value of about 6.5. The formulation of the application shows two to four times improved ibuprofen flux compared to a standard composition.

The composition comprises prostaglandin E , a penetration enhancer, a polysaccharide gum, a lipophilic compound, and an acidic buffer system. The penetration enhancer is an alkyl-2-(N,N-disubstituted amino)-alkanoate ester, an (N,N-disubstituted amino)-alkanol alkanoate, or a mixture of these. The lipophilic compound may be an aliphatic C to C alcohol, aliphatic C to C ester, an aliphatic C to C ester, or a mixture of these. The composition includes a buffer system capable of providing a buffered pH value for said composition in the range of about 3 to about 7.4.
