A process for determining the sensitivity or resistance of at least one identified bacterium to at least one antibiotic, wherein the process includes the following steps: a) bringing a sample including bacterium into contact with the at least one antibiotic, the antibiotic inducing the rupture of the bacterial wall and/or of the cytoplasmic membrane and causing the release of the intracellular compounds of the bacterium when the bacterium is termed 'sensitive' to the at least one antibiotic, b) incubating the sample with the at least one antibiotic, c) purifying the sample by removing the intact bacteria and the cell debris, d) analyzing the purified sample by mass spectrometry, e) detecting the presence or absence of at least one peak of at least one protein characteristic of the bacterium, and f) determining the sensitivity or the resistance of the bacterial population to the antibiotic.

The invention provides an analysis plate () including at least one analysis zone for receiving a sample to be analyzed by mass spectrometry using the MALDI-TOF technique, the plate being of the type having at least one test face () with at least one analysis zone defined thereon and of the type in which the plate includes a support () that is plane, the plate being characterized in that the support () comprises at least one sheet () of paper material comprising cellulose fibers, and in that the analysis plate () includes at least one ply () of metal material.

An extraction system includes a support bar including a sample well, a reagent well, at least one washing well, and at least one protection and retention housing; a pipetting element removably mounted on the support bar and extending at least partially into the at least one protection and retention housing; and a filtering and transfer device configured to capture and accumulate microorganisms contained in the sample and transfer the captured and accumulated microorganisms, the filtering and transfer device being removably mounted on the support bar and extending at least partially into the at least one protection and retention housing. The filtering and transfer device includes a hollow body having an elongated shape and including a proximal end portion and a distal end portion; and a filtering element fixed to the distal end portion of the hollow body.
