Methods, apparatus and computer software products implement embodiments of the present invention that include receiving requests from clients to access a corpus of data that is replicated on a group of servers, and distributing the requests among the servers for execution in accordance with an allocation function, which indicates a respective fraction of the requests that is to be assigned to each of the servers for execution. Respective cache miss rates incurred by the servers in responding to the requests that are distributed to each of the servers are measured, and the allocation function is adjusted responsively to the cache miss rates.

Systems and methods for enhancing the handling of interrupts in a virtual computing environment are disclosed. A CPU is configured such that the CPU, when in a virtual machine (VM) mode, directs an interrupt to a VM. When in the VM context, a guest in the VM is run with a hypervisor interrupt descriptor table (hypervisor IDT) to determine how the interrupt should be handled. The hypervisor IDT directs an interrupt that is to be handled by the VM to an interrupt handler in a guest IDT without causing a transition to the hypervisor. If an interrupt is to be handled by the hypervisor, the hypervisor IDT causes a transition to the hypervisor.

Enhancing interrupt handling in a virtual environment

A method and system for visualizing shared route information are provided. The method includes receiving a route query from a user and retrieving multiple route results for the query for display as an overlay on a map. The method further includes processing the route results for display by dividing each route result into sub-routes, wherein a sub-route is a portion of a route between intersections with other routes and aggregating the sub-routes across the route results. Each sub-route in the route results is scored according to a defined scoring basis and represented in the display according to the relative score to other sub-routes. A user can select a displayed sub-route and the method filters the route results to remove any routes not including the selected sub-route and displays the narrowed results.
