A food preservative including zinc oxide nanoparticles derived from a pomegranate peel extract and a nanocomposite obtained from at least one of a beetroot extract and a red cabbage extract. The food preservative is characterized by a Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) pattern including a broad peak at 3500 cmto 3000 cmand a series of three peaks at 900 cmto 1200 cm.

Plant derived food preservative

A food preservative having antimicrobial and antioxidant activity and a method of fabrication. The food preservative includes an inner core including an extract of pomegranate pools and onion pools, and an outer coating of chia nano particles. The outer costing encapsulates the inner core.
