A medical device comprising, a handle body, a flexible shaft coupled to a distal end of the handle body, a distal tip coupled to a distal end of the shaft and including a movable element, and an actuator coupled to the handle body and configured, upon actuation, to move the movable element, wherein the actuator includes a first contact element having outer contact surfaces each configured for contact by a finger of a user, each of the outer contact surfaces being at least one of angled and recessed relative to the other outer contact surfaces to provide a plurality of positions of contact between the finger and the actuator.

Endoscope elevator actuators

A handle of a medical device may comprise an actuator; a lock movable relative to the actuator and having a feature movable relative to the actuator; and a rack having plurality of teeth separated from one another by a plurality of gaps. The lock may be configured to move the feature from (a) a first configuration, in which the feature is disposed in the gap, between two of the plurality of teeth, such that the two teeth inhibit the actuator from rotating; to (b) a second configuration, in which the feature is disposed outside of the gap, such that the actuator is rotatable. In the second configuration, the teeth may be disposed between the feature and the actuator.

A medical device system includes an insertion device and a medical device. The insertion device includes an insertion device handle, including a port on a handle body. The insertion device also includes an insertion device shaft extending from the insertion device handle. The insertion device shaft includes a working channel connected to the port. The medical device includes a medical device handle, including a movable handle portion and a stationary handle portion. The movable handle portion includes a ball portion movably positioned within a cavity in the stationary handle portion. The medical device also includes a medical device shaft. The medical device shaft is configured to be delivered through the port in the insertion device handle and through the working channel in the insertion device shaft. Movement of the movable handle portion relative to the stationary handle portion controls movement of a distal portion of the medical device shaft.

Medical systems, devices, and related methods

A medical device that includes a handle including a plurality of actuators. The handle defines a longitudinal axis extending through a distal end of the handle. The device includes a shaft extending from the handle and an end effector at a distal end of the shaft. A first actuator of the plurality of actuators is configured to actuate the end effector in response to translation of the first actuator relative to the handle along an axis parallel to the longitudinal axis. A second actuator of the plurality of actuators is configured to deflect the end effector relative to the shaft in response to pivoting the second actuator about an axis transverse to the longitudinal axis. A third actuator of the plurality of actuators is configured to rotate the end effector relative to the shaft in response to rotation of the third actuator relative to the handle about the longitudinal axis.

A medical device having multiple degrees of freedom independent of each other. The medical device includes a handle, an end effector, and a tubular section extending between the handle and the end effector. The end effector is configured to be rotated about a first axis extending through the tubular section without rotating the tubular section. And, the tubular section is configured to be rotated about the first axis with the end effector.

Medical device with multiple degrees of freedom and related methods

An elongated tissue traction device adhered to target tissue and configured to lift the target tissue away from surrounding tissue. The tissue traction device may lift the target tissue as a surgical procedure is performed, such as resecting or cutting of the target tissue. The tissue traction device may be a bistable spring. The tissue traction device is in a first stable configuration when initially adhered to the target tissue. The tissue traction device may be shifted (e.g., actuated) into the second configuration, such as when the tissue is resected or cut around the target tissue to which the tissue traction device is adhered. In the second stable configuration, the tissue traction device curls and lifts the target tissue from the surrounding tissue.

Devices, systems, and methods for tissue traction

A medical device that includes a body and an arm extending from the body and configured to receive a first device such that the first device is suspended relative to the body. Translation of the arm relative to the body is configured to move the first device relative to the body. The medical device includes a receiver extending from the body and configured to receive a second device such that the second device is suspended relative to the body.

A device for draining cysts includes a catheter system configured to deploy an absorbent material, including but not limited to a foam, into a cyst. The absorbent material advantageously absorbs fluid contained within the cyst, for example fluid that may remain following aspiration, reducing the potential for cyst recurrence. In various embodiments, the absorbent material may be bioabsorbable, radiolucent, echogenic, drug eluting, or a combination thereof. In some embodiments the device may further include or be coupled to a vacuum source which applies negative pressure to the cyst during foam delivery, thereby reduce the overall size and/or profile of the cyst.

A tissue traction device including a scaffold structure configured to anchor the tissue traction device in place such that a tissue traction element is anchored upon deployment of the scaffold structure and without further manipulation of the tissue traction device (such as to grasp tissue or otherwise anchor the tissue traction element to tissue). The scaffold structure may be self-supporting/self-standing to be in a deployed expanded configuration to anchor the tissue traction device with respect to the tissue. The tissue traction element may be pivotably coupled to the scaffold structure, such as to a rigid element of the scaffold structure. The tissue traction element, when anchored by the scaffold, exerts a force (e.g., traction force) on a region of target tissue to which the tissue traction element is coupled, such as via a tissue engagement member.

A medical device includes a handle, a shaft extending from the handle, and an articulation member integral with or attached to a distal end of the shaft. The articulation member includes a first portion coupled to a second portion, the second portion is receivable in a slot defined by the first portion, and the handle is coupled to each of the first portion and the second portion and to articulate the first portion independently of articulating the second portion.

A medical device, for example a delivery catheter, may include a handle portion, a shaft portion extending distally from the handle portion, a deployment mechanism, and an actuation member positioned on the handle portion. The shaft portion may include a working channel and a distal tip portion having a payload chamber configured to receive a payload, such as a bio-absorbable foam. The distal tip portion may be operatively connected to the working channel. The deployment mechanism may be positioned in the working channel, and may be operable to deploy the payload out from the distal tip portion. The actuation member may be actuatable to operate the deployment mechanism.

A medical device may include a handle including a fixed body and a movable body. The movable body may be movable relative to the fixed body. The medical device may include a shaft extending from the fixed body and an end effector at a distal end of the shaft. Rotation of the movable body relative to the fixed body may permit rotation of the end effector relative to the shaft, and rotation of the movable body with rotation of the fixed body may permit rotation of the end effector with the shaft. Deflection of the movable body relative to the fixed body may permit deflection of the end effector relative to the fixed body.

A device includes an elongated hollow member having an open distal end for receiving tissue therein and at least one exterior groove for loading at least one ligation band thereon. The device also includes a band deployment sleeve slidable over the exterior of the hollow member and configured to move from a radially expanded position to a radially contracted position in which, when the band deployment sleeve slides longitudinally over the hollow member, the distal portion engages the at least one ligation band. A closing sleeve slidable over the exterior of the band deployment sleeve is configured to constrain the distal portion from the radially expanded position into the radially contracted position. Retracting the closing sleeve proximally over the distal portion of the band deployment sleeve releases the distal portion from the radially contracted position into the radially expanded position.
