An electronic device, according to various embodiments, comprises: a first housing; a second housing movable with respect to the first housing; a motor configured to move the second housing to be retracted and/or drawn out with respect to the first housing; a display having a display area having a size that can be changed according to the movement of the second housing; and a processor operatively connected to the motor and the display. The processor may be configured to: detect an occurrence of an event related to at least one external electronic device connected to the electronic device; determine whether the event satisfies a specified condition for changing the size of the display area; and in response to the event satisfying the specified condition, control the motor to move the second housing to change the size of the display area.

Electronic device comprising flexible display

An electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a first housing, a second housing movable with respect to the first housing, a motor for moving the second housing to be inserted and/or withdrawn with respect to the first housing, a display for displaying a display area having a size changeable according to the movement of the second housing, and a processor operatively connected to the display and the motor and being configured to identify whether a maintenance mode in which the size of the display area is maintained in a determined size is activated, control the motor to move the second housing according to the state of the electronic device corresponding to the deactivation of the maintenance mode, and maintain the size of the display area to be the determined size corresponding to the activation of the maintenance mode.

Electronic device including flexible display and method for operating electronic device

An electronic device is provided. The electronic device comprising a flexible display includes a first area and a second area extending from the first area, a motor module configured to move at least a part of the second area according to a driving state in the first state and the second state, and a processor electrically connected to the flexible display and the motor module. The processor identifies a characteristic value related to the motor module when being changed from the first state to the second state and controls the motor module such that an area exposed to the outside of the electronic device among the second area is changed based on the identified characteristic value.

Method for controlling flexible display and electronic device supporting the same

An electronic includes: a housing including a first plate, a second plate, and a side member; a display; a conductive coil parallel to the second plate and disposed between the display and the second plate; a wireless charging circuitry electrically connected to the conductive coil; and a processor operatively connected with the display and the wireless charging circuitry. The wireless charging circuitry receives a signal for wirelessly transferring power to an external electronic device from the processor, receives information about the external electronic device, receives a power control signal from the external electronic device via the conductive coil, applies a charging current of a first frequency to the conductive coil based at least in part on a request signal, increases a frequency of the charging current, compares the increased frequency with a first value, and adjusts a duty cycle of the charging current.

Electronic device for wirelessly charging external electronic device

A method for wireless charging an electronic device and a method therefor are provided. The electronic device includes a near field communication device, a wireless charging device including a conductive coil, and at least one processor operatively connected to the near field communication device and the wireless charging device. The at least one processor is configured to transmit a first ping, using the near field communication device, receive first acknowledgement (ACK) information responsive to the first ping from an external electronic device, transmit a second ping, using the wireless charging device, based on that the first ACK information is received, and control the wireless charging device such that a charging current flows through the conductive coil based on second ACK information responsive to the second ping being received from the external electronic device within a specified time from the transmission of the second ping.
