Disclosed are a secondary battery and a circuit board assembly suitable for the secondary battery. The secondary battery includes a bare cell including an electrode terminal, a circuit board electrically connected to the electrode terminal and arranged on a top surface of the bare cell. The circuit board includes an installation part having a smaller thickness than rest of the circuit board. The secondary battery further includes a temperature device installed on the installation part of the circuit board to sense temperature variation of the bare cell.

A diesel engine piston having a combustion chamber may include a profile surface that protrudes toward a center axis of the combustion chamber from an inner wall thereof and includes a protrusion on the inner wall, the protrusion extending from the inner wall with a predetermined length, wherein the protrusion divides a spray fuel, which may be sprayed and atomized onto the protrusion, into a fuel flow at an upper portion of the combustion chamber and a fuel flow at a lower portion of the combustion chamber, respectively.

A lithium rechargeable battery including: a bare cell including an electrode assembly disposed in a pouch, the electrode assembly including two electrodes, a separator, and first and second electrode tabs that extend from the electrodes, through a first side of the bare cell; a protecting circuit board electrically connected to the first and second electrode tabs; a first lead plate connected to the protecting circuit board and the first electrode tab, and a second lead plate connected to the protecting circuit board and the second electrode tab. The protecting circuit board is provided on a second side of the bare cell, which is adjacent to the first side. The first and second lead plates are bent to extend along the first and second sides of the pouch.

An external case for secondary batteries, and a secondary battery using the external case, in which the covering surfaces for the lower surface and side surfaces of a pouch type core pack are joined to prevent unfolding due to the resilience of the material. The external case includes: a base covering the lower surface of the pouch type cell, a pair of sidewalls joined to two opposing longer edges of the base to respectively form single linear boundaries, and covering two broad side surfaces of the pouch type cell, and skirts extending from two longer edges of each of the sidewalls, and covering two narrow side surfaces of the pouch type cell. The base, sidewalls, and skirts are all formed of a metallic material.
