According to embodiments of the disclosure, it is possible to increase scattering effect and light reflectance in the area around the light source by increasing the ratio of the base layer exposed around the light source, which have protrusion patterns and have a higher reflectance than the cover layer and are positioned under the cover layer and the wiring layer of the printed circuit where the light source included in the backlight unit. Thus, there may be provided a backlight unit with enhanced light efficiency and image quality in the area around the light source and a display device including the same.

Backlight unit and display device

Disclosed herein are a backlight unit and a display device including the same. The backlight unit can reduce the number of light sources and can uniformly supply light to a region in which the light sources are disposed and a region in which the light sources are not disposed by arranging a reflective pattern on an upper surface of each light source to emit the light through a side portion of the light source and allowing the emitted light to travel by a light guide portion connecting between the light sources to be emitted above the light guide portion by a reflective layer positioned in a region between the light sources.

Embodiments of the present disclosure are related to a backlight unit and a display device including the same, the backlight unit that a light source unit including a light source, and a light reflector surrounding the light source, and including at least one of a light reflection pattern, a light diffusion pattern, or a light source protection layer including a color conversion material is disposed can be provided. As an exposed electrode layer on a substrate is covered by the light reflector, a light efficiency can be improved by reducing a reflection loss by the electrode layer, and by various functions that the light source unit provides, a fabrication efficiency the backlight unit can be improved and the backlight unit having a thin thickness can be provided.

Embodiments of the present disclosure are related to a backlight unit and a display device, and the backlight unit in which an optical plate including an engraved pattern in which a color conversion material is disposed is positioned on a light source can be provided. As the color conversion material is disposed in the engraved pattern, a change of the color conversion material by an external factor can be prevented and an amount of the color conversion material can be reduced, thus the backlight unit providing an image quality greater or equal to a certain level and with improved reliability can be implemented easily.

Provided are a light guide film, a backlight unit, and a display device. Light guide portions are disposed in holes of a reflection plate on which light sources are disposed, and a light guide film is directly disposed on the reflection plate and the light guide portions to provide a light guiding function and a light shielding function. Therefore, a method of facilitating implementation of a backlight unit with a small thickness, which satisfies image quality is provided. Further, each of the light shielding patterns has different reflectances in different areas, thereby increasing the amount of light supplied to an area between light sources. Therefore, a backlight unit with a reduced number of light sources and improved image quality may be provided.

Light guide film, backlight unit and display device

A display device including a display panel, and a backlight unit configured to provide light to the display panel are discussed. The backlight unit can include a light emitting section including a plurality of light emitting devices disposed on a substrate, and a light source protection layer disposed on the plurality of light emitting devices, a light conversion sheet having a plurality of light conversion patterns disposed in positions corresponding to the plurality of light emitting devices, respectively, a phosphor film disposed on the light conversion sheet, and at least one reflector including a plurality of holes on the substrate. An air gap is disposed between a top surface of the at least one reflector and a bottom surface of the light conversion sheet.

Backlight unit and display device including the same

A backlight unit and a display device including the backlight unit are discussed. By arranging at least one electronic element for driving a light source and the backlight unit on a surface where the light source is disposed in a printed circuit and arranging a pattern having a reflective characteristic in an area where the electronic element is disposed, an image quality of the backlight unit can be maintained and a design structure of the backlight unit can be simplified. In addition, the light source and the electronic element can be disposed on a same surface of the printed circuit so that a space is not present between an opposite surface of the surface of the printed circuit where the light source is disposed and a cover bottom, so the performance of a heat dissipation can be improved in an area where the light source or the electronic element overlaps.

Embodiments of the present disclosure relates to a light path control element, a backlight unit and a display device, and by disposing, over one or more light sources, a light path control element including a first engraved patterns located on a surface through which light exits and located to correspond to respective light sources, and a second engraved patterns located on a surface into which light is incident and located in an areas between light sources, it is possible to improve functions of guiding and diffusing light emitted from the light sources. Accordingly, by increasing a distance between light sources and enabling a hot spot to be prevented and luminance uniformity to improve, it is possible to reduce the number of light sources and provide a backlight unit producing improved image quality.

Light path control element, backlight unit and display device

A backlight unit for a display device includes a light path control pattern disposed over a light source and including portions having different types of reflective characteristic and a reflective layer disposed on a substrate where the light source is mounted and including portions having different types of reflective characteristic, a light guide distance of a light emitted from the light source can be increased and a light uniformity can be maintained, so that as a light can be supplied to each area evenly while increasing a distance between the light sources and reducing the number of the light sources, an image quality of the backlight unit can be enhanced.

Disclosed is a backlight unit and a display device including the same. The backlight unit can include a light emitting section including a plurality of light emitting devices disposed on a substrate, and a light source protection layer disposed on the plurality of light emitting devices, wherein an air gap is disposed between a top surface of the substrate and a bottom surface of the light source protection layer and in between the light emitting devices, a light conversion sheet having a plurality of light conversion patterns disposed in positions corresponding to the plurality of light emitting devices, and a phosphor film disposed on the light conversion sheet.

Embodiments of the disclosure are related to a backlight unit and a display device, by disposing a filter reflecting a green light of a long wavelength on a color conversion sheet and disposing a filter reflecting a green light and a red light under the color conversion sheet, a wavelength band of a light supplied to a display panel is controlled and a color reproduction range may be improved while increasing a light efficiency. Furthermore, by disposing a sheet increasing an amount of a vertical light on the color conversion sheet, a wavelength band of a light reflected by a filter disposed on the color conversion sheet is controlled exactly and the backlight unit and the display device capable of a wide color gamut may be provided.

Backlight unit with reflection filters and display device comprising the same

A backlight unit for a display device comprises a plurality of light sources; a printed circuit including a first area where the plurality of light sources are disposed and a second area horizontally extended from the first area where no light source is disposed; at least one reflection plate disposed between the plurality of light sources in the first area; a light source protection portion covering the plurality of light sources and the reflection plate in the first area; and a printed circuit protection portion disposed on a side surface of the light source protection portion located at a boundary between the first and second areas and extended to an exposed surface of the printed circuit in the second area.

A display device comprises a plurality of island substrates spaced apart from one another and having a plurality of display elements disposed thereon; a lower substrate supporting the plurality of island substrates and the lower substrate being more flexible than the plurality of island substrates; a plurality of connection lines electrically connecting between the island substrates; and a light-transmitting unit disposed on the island substrates and the lower substrate and transmitting light from the plurality of display elements.
