A method of operating an electronic device is provided. The method of operating an electronic device includes determining whether a multi-frequency band connection is established, when a result of the determination is that the multi-frequency band connection is established, identifying a frequency band transmitting control information from among connected multi-frequency bands, acquiring communication state information of the identified frequency band transmitting the control information, determining an antenna mode based on the acquired communication state information, and configuring at least one antenna based on the determined antenna mode.

According to various embodiments, an electronic device may comprise: a communication circuit which comprises a first antenna component and a second antenna component to determine a first value through the first antenna component and determine a second value through the second antenna component; a processor; and at least one memory, wherein the at least one memory has instructions stored therein which cause, when executed, the processor to: determine whether a first module disposed in the vicinity of the first antenna component has started operating; compensatively adjust a first value obtained during the operation of the first module, by using a first value obtained before the operation of the first module or a second value obtained during the operation of the first module, in response to the determination as to whether the first module has started operating; and operate the communication circuit according to a first value obtained by the compensation, wherein the first value obtained during the operation of the first module may contain a first noise value resulting from the operation of the first module. Various other embodiments are also possible.

An electronic device for supporting carrier aggregation (CA) is provided. The electronic device includes a radio frequency integrated circuit (RFIC) including a plurality of mixers and a feedback circuit, at least one antenna, a coupler disposed between the RFIC and the at least one antenna to transfer a reflected signal of a transmission signal to the feedback circuit, and at least one processor operatively connected to the RFIC, wherein the at least one processor may identify whether there is a mixer which is not in use among the plurality of mixers, when the first mixer which is not in use among the plurality of mixers is identified, perform antenna impedance tuning through a first mixer and the feedback circuit, and when the plurality of mixers are all in use, perform the antenna impedance tuning through a second mixer assigned to a secondary cell (Scell) among the plurality of mixers and the feedback circuit.

Structure of electronic device for optimizing performance of antenna and method thereof

A method of improving antenna performance and an electronic device configured to improve the antenna performance are provided. The electronic device include: a housing; an antenna located inside the housing or formed as part of the housing; a radio frequency (RF) interface configured to transmit/receive wireless signals via the antenna; a groove formed inside an opening in part of the housing; an electrical connector placed inside the groove; a ground member placed inside the housing; a processor electrically connected to the RF interface and the electrical connector; and a memory electrically connected to the processor. The memory stores instructions which enable the processor to detect an external electrical connector inserted into the electrical connector, and select at least one of a plurality of electrical paths between the RF interface and the ground member, in response to at least part of the inserted external electrical connector. Various embodiments are provided.
