A door for a washing machine or a dryer includes a frame having a system for opening/closing an opening provided for introducing laundry into a washing machine or a dryer, and a hinge assembly. The hinge assembly includes a bracket attached to an inside surface of a housing of the washing machine or the dryer, and a hinge arm. The hinge arm has a first member rotatably connected to the bracket, and a second member extended in succession to the first member and rotatably connected to the frame for being drawn to an outside of the washing machine and the dryer, thereby enabling the door to be rotated relative to the bracket and the hinge arm respectively, so as to be opened at a great angle.

Disclosed is a tilted drum type washing machine, in which an internal structure is improved to prevent a contact between a drum and a lip of a gasket. The present invention includes a cabinet having an entrance at a front side for inputting/outputting a laundry, a door opening/closing the entrance, a tub installed slant in the cabinet to hold water, a drum in the tub to hold a detergent and the water, a gasket between the door and the tub, the gasket bringing the door airtight to prevent the water from leaking outside, a lip on an inner circumference of the gasket to prevent particles from being put in a space between the tub and the drum, and a support member preventing the lip from drooping to prevent an interruption between the lip and the drum. And, the support member includes a reinforcement rib on an inner circumference of the tub to support an inner lateral side of the lip or a protrusion at the inner lateral side of the lip.

Tilted drum type washing machine

Disclosed is a washing machine having an improved circulation apparatus for pumping water in a lower side of the tub and discharging the pumped water from an upper side of the tub. The circulation apparatus includes a circulation motor, a circulation hose and an injection unit. The circulation motor communicates with a lower side of a tub of a washing machine to pump water in the tub. The circulation hose has one end that is connected with the circulation motor, and guides the pumped water. The injection unit includes a nozzle. that has a facing surface facing an inside of a drum and left and right surfaces of the facing surface, the facing surface and the left and right surfaces being completely opened. The nozzle disperses the water into the inside of the drum.

The vibration sensing assembly includes a fixing part fixed to an inner wall of a cabinet, a rotational part rotatably connected to the fixing part to perform a rotational movement within a predetermined range by the vibration of a tub centering around a portion connected to the fixing part, and a sensor provided to the rotational part to sense the rotational movement of the rotational part.

A drum-type washing machine is disclosed which includes a ventilation apparatus that provides an air passage for an inner space of a tub to communicate with an external atmosphere. The ventilation apparatus employs a bubble dissipation device that prevents bubbles generated in the tub from reaching a ventilating bellows and being discharged from a cabinet of the washing machine. The ventilation apparatus includes a ventilating duct formed at an upper part of the tub; a ventilating bellows, one end of which is coupled to an exterior surface of the cabinet and the other end of which is connected to the ventilating duct, to allow a passage of aim the tub to the external atmosphere; and a bubble dissipation device, vertically installed along the air passage of the ventilation apparatus, for preventing bubbles generated in the tub from being discharged from the cabinet. The bubble dissipation device includes a float movably disposed in the ventilation apparatus to travel between a seated stated and a raised state, under a force of a forming air bubble, for blocking the air passage of the ventilating bellows when a bubble is generated and allowing the air of the ventilation apparatus to pass freely when no bubble is generated.

Drum-type washing machine

A drum-type washing machine includes a washing water supply apparatus providing a liquid passage from a water outlet of a detergent reservoir to an inner space of a tub. The washing water supply apparatus employs a bubble dissipation device for preventing bubbles generated in a tub from reaching an inlet bellows and entering a detergent reservoir. The washing water supply apparatus includes a water supply duct formed at an upper part of the tub; an inlet bellows, one end of which is coupled to the water outlet of the detergent reservoir and the other end of which is connected to the water supply duct, for supplying a liquid to the tub; and a bubble dissipation device, vertically installed along the liquid passage of the washing water supply apparatus, for preventing bubbles generated in the tub from entering the detergent reservoir. The bubble dissipation device includes a float movably disposed in the washing water supply apparatus to travel a predetermined vertical distance along the washing water supply apparatus between a seated stated and a raised state, under a force of a forming air bubble, for blocking the liquid passage when a bubble is generated and allowing the liquid of the washing water supply apparatus to drain into the tub when no bubble is generated. An air escape hole having a small cross-section, for allowing air trapped by the float to escape slowly back into the tub, provides communication between the inner space of the tub and a space created when the float is in the raised state.

Disclosed is a washing machine and dryer having a condensation unit (). A tub () is installed in a cabinet (), and a drum is rotatably installed within the tub (). A drying duct () has one end connected with an interior of the tub (), and a condensation duct () connects the tub () with the drying duct (). A cooling water supply unit () is provided in one side of the condensation duct () to supply cooling water supplied from an outside to the interior of the condensation duct (). A cooling water dropping unit () collects the cooling water supplied to an interior of the condensation duct to drop the collected cooling water to the inner space of the condensation duct. A heater () heats air circulating the tub (), the condensation duct (), and the drying duct (), and a circulation fan () circulates the air. A drain pump () discharges washing water in the tub () outside the cabinet (). To dry laundry in the drum (), the drum () rotates, the heater () and the circulation fan () operate, and cooling water is fed into the condensation duct () through the cooling water supply unit (). Moist absorbing moisture while drying the laundry in the drum () exchanges heat with the cooling water dropped by a cooling water dropping unit (750) while being via the condensation duct (), and is condensed to remove moisture, so that dry performance of the washing machine is enhanced.

An improved water supply assembly for a washing machine is provided which prevents breakage of a water supply hose due to freezing. The water supply assembly includes a detergent box assembly provided in a cabinet so as to communicate with a tub of the washing machine, and a water supply valve assembly connected to the detergent box assembly by a hose so as to control a flow of water into the washing machine. By positioning the water supply valve assembly higher than the detergent box, the hose extending therebetween is oriented at a downward slant, thus causing any excess water remaining in the hose after the flow of water into the washing machine has been cut off to naturally drain into the detergent box assembly.

The transient vibration sensor assembly senses transient vibration of a tub to prevent the washing machine from severe shaking and subsequent breakdown.
