A fuel cell system comprises: a fuel cell stack () where an anode () and a cathode () are arranged under a state that an electrolyte membrane is positioned therebetween; a fuel tank () for storing a fuel; a fuel circulation supply means () for circulation-supplying a fuel stored in the fuel tank () to the anode of the fuel cell stack; an air supply unit () connected to the cathode of the fuel cell stack () by an air supply line, for supplying oxygen, etc. to the cathode (); a sensing unit () for measuring a concentration of at least one of fuels supplied to the anode () and a control unit for receiving a signal of the sensing unit () and informing replacement time of a fuel. According to this, a fuel usage is maximized by informing replacement time of a used fuel and a filter () for filtering impurity by detecting a fuel consumption degree and an impurity generation amount.

Fuel cell system

A multi-unit fuel cell system that includes a common-use reforming unit configured to supply hydrogen to multiple fuel cell units that are installed in multiple units, such as apartments within an apartment building. In one example embodiment, a fuel cell system including a common-use reforming unit and multiple fuel cell units is disclosed. The common-use reforming unit is configured to supply hydrogen to the plurality of fuel cell units. Each fuel cell unit includes a stack unit, an air supplying unit, an integral heat exchange unit, a hot-water supplying unit, an auxiliary heat supplying unit, and an electric output unit.

The present invention discloses a power supply apparatus and method for a line connection type fuel cell system. The power supply apparatus for the line connection type fuel cell system includes: a storing unit for pre-storing a normal region and a warning region according to an operating condition of a fuel cell and a correlation between an output voltage and an output current of the fuel cell; and a control unit for detecting an operating point on the basis of the operating condition of the fuel cell, comparing the detected operating point with the normal region and the warning region, and outputting a control signal for increasing or decreasing the output current of the fuel cell according to the comparison result.

Power supply apparatus and method for line connection type fuel cell system

A method for purging a fuel cell system comprises detecting a signal for stopping an operation of a fuel cell system, cutting off an electricity output of the fuel cell system, driving a steam generator of a fuel supply unit of the fuel cell system for a certain time and thereby generating steam, certifying whether a purging operation of the fuel cell system has been completed or not, and stopping the fuel cell system, in which the fuel cell system is purged by using steam generated by the steam generator. Since an additional container for storing nitrogen is not required, a fabrication cost is reduced. Also, inconvenience caused by periodically containing nitrogen in the container is solved. Furthermore, when the fuel cell system is used at home, an additional space for installing the nitrogen container is not required and the fuel cell system can be easily installed.

Method for purging fuel cell system

A fuel cell system comprises: a DBFC for generating a power by receiving a fuel; a PEMFC for generating a power by receiving hydrogen, a byproduct generated at an anode of the DBFC after a reaction, as a fuel; a supplementary power partially charged by a power generated at the DBFC and the PEMFC and discharging the charged power; a load sensing unit for sensing a load connected to the DBFC, the PEMFC, and the supplementary power; and a control unit for controlling a power of the DBFC, the PEMFC, and the supplementary power according to a load sensed by the load sensing unit and thereby selectively supplying to the load. According to this, hydrogen generated at the DBFC is recycled, and a load amount is sensed thus to stably correspond to a load variation, thereby maximizing a fuel usage efficiency and stably driving the system.

A fuel cell system comprises: a fuel storage means for storing a fuel; a direct borohydride fuel cell (DBFC); a fuel circulation supply means for circulation and supplying a fuel to an anode of the DBFC from the fuel storage means; a polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) for receiving hydrogen generated at the anode of the DBFC as a fuel; a hydrogen control means for controlling hydrogen generated from the anode of the DBFC in correspondence to an amount required by the PEMFC and thereby supplying the hydrogen to the PEMFC; and an air supply means for supplying air to a cathode of the DBFC and an cathode of the PEMFC.

Fuel cell system and controlling method thereof

In a MEA (membrane electrode assembly) of a fuel cell including an electrolyte membrane as an ion transfer medium arranged between a bipolar plate having a fuel side open groove in which fuel flows and a bipolar plate having an air side open groove in which air flows so as to form a fuel path with the fuel side open groove and form an air path with the air side open groove; and a catalyst electrode inserted into the fuel side open groove so as to be separated from the electrolyte membrane in order to form a fuel path with both sides thereof and induce electrochemical oxidation with the fuel, by activating action occurred on the fuel electrode in which fuel is supplied and the air electrode in which air is supplied, current generating efficiency can be improved.

Membrane electrode assembly of fuel cell

A fuel cell system is provided which produces improved reaction speed and performance. The fuel cell system includes a fuel cell stack including an anode, a cathode, and an electrolyte membrane disposed therebetween. A fuel tank supplies hydrogen-based fuel to the anode of the fuel cell stack, and an oxidant supplying unit adds ozone to oxygen- including air supplies it to the cathode of the fuel cell stack. The ozone supplied to the cathode of the fuel cell stack accelerates a reaction speed in the fuel cell stack, thereby producing a relatively high current density and improving fuel cell performance.
