An organic light emitting diode (OLED) display includes a red pixel, a green pixel, and a blue pixel. The red pixel, the green pixel and the blue pixel each includes: a pixel electrode; a hole auxiliary layer on the pixel electrode; a blue organic emission layer on the hole auxiliary layer; an electron auxiliary layer on the blue organic emission layer; and a common electrode on the electron auxiliary layer. The red pixel and the green pixel include: a red boundary layer and a green boundary layer, respectively; a red resonance assistance layer and a green resonance assistance layer, respectively; and a red organic emission layer and a green organic emission layer formed between the red resonance assistance layer and the blue organic emission layer, and between the green resonance assistance layer and the blue organic emission layer, respectively.

Organic light emitting diode display and manufacturing method thereof

A method of manufacturing an organic light-emitting display apparatus, which can minimize damage to an emission layer, and an organic light-emitting display apparatus manufactured using the method are provided. The method includes: preparing a backplane including a pixel electrode and a pixel-defining layer protruding further than an upper surface of the pixel electrode and exposing at least a part of the pixel electrode; placing a donor film for laser-induced thermal imaging (LITI) on the backplane; irradiating a predetermined portion of the donor film with a first light from a laser beam to transfer a part of a transfer layer at the predetermined portion of the donor film to the backplane; irradiating at least one of the donor film and the backplane with a second light having a weaker output than that of the first light from the laser beam; and detaching the donor film from the backplane.

In one aspect, an organic light-emitting display apparatus is provided including a first sub-pixel, a second sub-pixel, and a third sub-pixel that are each a different color, the apparatus including: a substrate; a first electrode disposed on the substrate; a second electrode disposed on the first electrode so as to face the first electrode; an organic emission layer disposed between the first electrode and the second electrode and comprising a first organic emission layer, a second organic emission layer, and a third organic emission layer; a hole transport layer disposed between the first electrode and the organic emission layer; and an electron accepting layer disposed between the first electrode and the second electrode. The organic light-emitting display apparatus has improved image quality and lifetime.

The organic light-emitting display apparatus includes a first sub-pixel, a second sub-pixel, and a third sub-pixel, where each of said first, second and third sub-pixels displays a different color, a substrate, a first electrode disposed on the substrate, a second electrode disposed on the first electrode, facing the first electrode, an organic emission layer disposed between the first electrode and the second electrode, including a first organic emission layer, a second organic emission layer, and a third organic emission layer, and an electron acceptor layer disposed between the first electrode and the second electrode configured to contact the organic emission layer, where the first organic emission layer is disposed in the first sub-pixel, the second organic emission layer is disposed in the second sub-pixel, and the third organic emission layer is commonly disposed over the first sub-pixel, the second sub-pixel, and the third sub-pixel, and where the electron acceptor layer is disposed between the first organic emission layer and the third organic emission layer in the first sub-pixel and between the second organic emission layer and the third organic emission layer in the second sub-pixel.

A donor substrate for laser induced thermal imaging and a method of fabricating an organic light emitting diode (OLED) using the donor substrate are disclosed. In one embodiment, the donor substrate includes a base film, a light-to-heat conversion layer formed on the base film, a buffer layer formed on the light-to-heat conversion layer, and a transfer layer formed on the buffer layer. The buffer layer is formed of magnesium (Mg), an Mg alloy, or magnesium oxide. In the donor substrate for laser induced thermal imaging, the buffer layer is formed between the interlayer and the transfer layer or between the light-to-heat conversion layer and the transfer layer, so that surface characteristics between the donor substrate and the transfer layer can be improved.

Donor substrate and method of fabricating organic light emitting diode using the same

Provided are a donor substrate for laser induced thermal imaging (LITI) and a method of fabricating an organic light emitting diode (OLED) using the same, which can prevent a transferred emission layer from being damaged by heat and thus prevent wrinkles from forming on the surface thereof. The donor substrate includes a base layer, a light-to-heat conversion layer disposed on the base layer, a first transfer layer disposed on the light-to-heat conversion layer and including an organic layer, an inorganic layer, or a double layer thereof, and a second transfer layer disposed on the first transfer layer and including an emission layer. The first transfer layer has an absolute value of lowest unoccupied molecular orbital energy level of 2.6 to 3.0 eV and a band gap energy of 2.8 to 3.4 eV.

Donor substrate for laser induced thermal imaging and method of fabricating organic light emitting diode using the same

A donor film and a method of manufacturing an organic light emitting device using the donor film. The donor film having a stack structure includes: a first layer comprising first transfer portions comprising a light emitting material of a first color, and first opening portions; a second layer that is formed on the first layer and comprising second transfer portions corresponding to the first opening portion and further comprising a light emitting material of a second color, and second opening portions; and a third layer that is formed on the second layer and comprising third transfer portions corresponding to the first and second opening portions and further comprising a light emitting material of a third color, and third opening portions.
