Disclosed are embodiments for profiling active workloads in a cloud platform and downstream applications for improving cloud infrastructure based on the profiling. In one embodiment, a method comprises receiving telemetry vectors from a computing device in a cloud platform, each of the telemetry vectors including a plurality of measured values associated with a workload executing on the computing device; clustering the telemetry vectors using an unsupervised learning algorithm, the unsupervised learning algorithm outputting parameters associated with a plurality of clusters; and generating a workload profile from the plurality of clusters by selecting at least one cluster from the plurality of clusters and storing corresponding parameters of the at least one cluster as the workload profile.

Cloud workload management using workload profiles

Disclosed are embodiments for injecting sidecar proxy capabilities into non-sidecar applications, allowing such non-sidecar applications to communicate with a service mesh architecture. In an embodiment, a method comprises receiving a request to instantiate a proxy for a non-sidecar application at a service mesh gateway (SMG). The SMG then instantiates the proxy in response to the request and broadcasts network information of the non-sidecar application to a mesh controller deployed in a containerized environment. Finally, the SMG (via the proxy) transmits data over a control plane that is communicatively coupled to the mesh controller.

Sidecar proxy as a service

A network function virtualization (NFV) orchestration service includes a centralized orchestration device and a multi-cluster container management (MCCM) platform. The centralized orchestration device stores a catalog of virtual network function descriptors (VNFDs) in an input language; generates, based on the catalog of VNFDs, intents for containerized network function (CNF) services; and stores the generated intents as blocks in a central intent database, wherein the blocks include an input data model for the CNF services. The MCCM platform includes one or more processors to receive and store a copy of the intent database; read design time policies from the copy of the intent database; and convert the input data model into a vendor-specific output data model in an output language.

A method, a device, and a non-transitory storage medium are described in which a SmartNIC-based inline secure communication service is provided. The service is provided by a SmartNIC. The SmartNIC-based inline secure communication service includes encryption and decryption of traffic originating from and destined to virtual devices of a device.

Smart network interface card-based inline secure communication service

A predictive modeling approach to managing processing unit states is disclosed. In an embodiment, a method includes receiving data associated with a host device, including processor statistics. The method generates a feature vector for the host device which includes data derived from the processor statistics and classifies the feature vector using a predictive model. The predictive model can generate a processor state for the host device based on the feature vector. In response, the method can then issue a processor state change message to the host device based on the processor state. The processor state change message causes the host device to reduce power consumption of one or more processing units based on the processor state.

Software-based power management for virtualization platforms

A system described herein may provide for the separation of functions associated with a User Plane Function ('UPF') in a wireless network (e.g., a Fifth Generation ('5G') network), such that routing devices associated with the wireless network may perform functionality that would otherwise be performed by virtualized hosts or other configurable resources. For example, routing components which form a backhaul or other portion of the network may process traffic according to a suitable set of policies (e.g., Quality of Service (&#x201c;QoS&#x201d;) policies, content filtering policies, queueing policies, and/or other policies) instead of transmitting such traffic to a UPF associated with the network core for processing.

Systems and methods for user plane function ('UPF') offload at configurable routing fabric

A system described herein may provide a technique for the resolution of requests for Internet Protocol ('IP') addresses for Virtualized Network Functions ('VNFs') in a network, such as a Software-Defined Network (&#x201c;SDN&#x201d;) (e.g., a wireless telecommunications network). In the network, different instances of the same VNF may be implemented by different hardware resources, and may accordingly have different IP addresses. Metrics of routes between instances of a requested VNF type and a requestor may be calculated, and a particular instance of the requested VNF may be selected based on the metrics (e.g., a lowest cost, highest performance, etc.). The IP address of the particular VNF instance may be provided to the requestor. The requestor, such as a User Equipment (&#x201c;UE&#x201d;), may communicate with the particular VNF instance in order to receive services provided the requested VNF type.

Systems and methods for virtualized network function ('VNF') selection in a wireless telecommunications network

A system described herein may provide a technique for the seamless failover of devices in a network, such as a wireless telecommunications network. For example, embodiments may identify a particular device, such as a Call Session Control Function ('CSCF'), that has failed or that does not meet particular performance metrics. An Internet Protocol ('IP') address of the failed device may be assigned to a functioning device of the same type (e.g., another CSCF). The functioning device may be instructed, in accordance with some embodiments, to output routes between itself and other devices or IP addresses, based on which traffic originally intended for the failed device may be routed to the functioning device.
