A method includes receiving at a device a request to send data to a destination device. The device includes first subscriber identity module (SIM) card information that enables first delivery according to a best-efforts delivery priority via a wireless network and includes second SIM card information that enables second delivery according to a quality of service delivery priority at or above a first delivery rate via the wireless network. The method includes determining, at the device, a first portion of the data to send using the first delivery based on a throughput value for data transmission to the destination device via the first delivery. The method also includes determining, at the device, a second portion of the data to send using the second delivery based on the throughput value. The second portion includes none of the data responsive to the throughput value being greater than a first threshold.

Wireless communication device

A method includes displaying, at a display device of a wireless communication device, an option to store a copy of first subscriber identity module (SIM) card information in response to detection of a SIM card in a SIM card slot of the wireless communication device. The method includes, in response to a selection of the first option, storing the copy of the first SIM card information to a storage device of the wireless communication device. The method includes, after storage of the copy, sending a notification to the display device, the notification indicating that the SIM card can be removed from the SIM card slot. The method also includes sending a second option to the display device, the second option associated with setting a parameter value. The parameter value corresponds to a type of service associated with data delivery using the first SIM card information.

A wireless communication device includes a user interface device, a subscriber identity module card slot, a memory, and a processor. The subscriber identity module card slot is configured to receive a subscriber identity module card that includes subscriber identity module card information. The processor is configured to, in response to detection of a subscriber identity module card within the subscriber identify module card slot, present, via the user interface device, an option to store a copy of the subscriber identity module card information to the memory.

A method includes receiving a request to send data to a destination device. The method includes determining a value associated with QoS of a wireless network. The wireless communication device includes first SIM card information that enables first data delivery according to a first priority via the wireless network and second SIM card information that enables second data delivery via the wireless network according to a second priority at least at a first delivery rate. The method includes determining, based on the value, a throughput value and a first portion of the data to send with the first data delivery. The method also includes determining a second portion of the data to send to the destination device with the second data delivery based on the throughput value, where the second portion includes none of the data when the throughput value is greater than a threshold.

A system for supporting a notification capability for a plurality of applications utilizing a next generation network having a network layer includes an application services middleware between the applications and the network layer comprising a plurality of common infrastructure elements usable by the applications. The common infrastructure elements provide both services associated with use of the network and services that are not associated with use of the network. The plurality of common infrastructure elements includes a notification service that is configured to facilitate the sending of messages from authorized services to recipients.

A method and apparatus for enabling customer premise Public Branch eXchange (PBX) service feature processing to be performed in a service provider network are disclosed. For example, the method receives a signaling message associated with a user, and accesses a customer premise Internet Protocol (IP) Public Branch eXchange (PBX) to retrieve customer premise IP PBX based service logic and data associated with the user by a Serving Call Session Control Function (S-CSCF) network element. The method then completes a service feature associated with the service logic and data in the communication network.

A method and apparatus for providing a network based Fixed Mobile Convergence (FMC) service are disclosed. For example, the method receives a NB-FMC call request originating from a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) NB-FMC endpoint device or a non-SIP NB-FMC endpoint device, and processes the NB-FMC call request using a single hosted NB-FMC Application Server (AS).

A method and apparatus for enabling customer premise Public Branch eXchange (PBX) service feature processing to be performed in a service provider network using an intermediary device are disclosed. For example, the method receives a signaling message by an intermediary device managed by a service provider of a communication network, where the signaling message requires processing by a customer premise Public Branch eXchange (PBX), wherein the signaling message is in accordance with a network signaling format. The method interworks the signaling message into a signaling message in accordance with a PBX signaling format, and sends the interworked signaling message to the customer premise PBX to retrieve service logic and data associated with the signaling message.

Support of a plurality of different applications utilizing a next generation network having a network layer is provided by an application services middle layer between the applications and the network layer that includes a plurality of common infrastructure elements usable by the different applications. The common infrastructure elements provide services associated with use of the network and services that are not associated with use of the network. The common infrastructure elements may provide a common infrastructure element to an end user such that use of the service by the end user is accessible to each of the different applications utilizing the at least one common infrastructure element. A common infrastructure element may be accessible by an end user so as to provide a common infrastructure element to the end user for the different applications. The different applications may include both third party applications and network service provider applications.
