The present invention provides a liquid crystal display device in which a light transmitting conductive layer formed on a surface of a color filter substrate is electrically connected with a backlight lower frame using conductive rubber. One end of the conductive rubber is connected with the light transmitting conductive layer, and another end of the conductive rubber is connected with the backlight lower frame through a hole which is formed in a backlight upper frame. The liquid crystal display device of the present invention can remove static electricity charged in a surface of a display panel and, at the same time, can realize the narrowing of a picture frame and the reduction of thickness thereof.

Liquid crystal display device

The liquid crystal display device includes a middle frame fixing a liquid crystal display panel, a lower frame having a first plate portion, and a lower cover having a second plate portion and a housing together with the upper cover. A pitch of first through holes formed in the lower frame and a pitch of second through holes formed in the lower cover differ from each other. By selecting a combination of the first through hole and the second through hole, by aligning the selected first through hole and second through hole, and by inserting an insert into the aligned first through hole and the second through hole, a relative positional relationship between the first through hole and the second through hole is fixed.

Liquid crystal display device and manufacturing method thereof

A liquid crystal display apparatus includes a first polarizer located on one side of a first substrate, a second polarizer located on the opposite side of a second substrate, a liquid crystal layer formed of liquid crystal molecules and between the first and the second substrates so that the liquid crystal molecules may be aligned in parallel to the first or the second substrate and to which an electric field is applied in parallel to the first substrate, and a lighting device. The first or the second polarizer includes a polarization layer and supporting materials located on both sides of the polarization layer, reducing light leakage and a color shift in a black display state when viewed from the oblique direction.

Polarizer and liquid-crystal display apparatus having reduced polarization state in oblique viewing angles

A liquid crystal display includes a pair of substrates having a polarizer, a liquid crystal layer sandwiched between the substrates of the pair, a color filter layer sandwiched between one of the substrates of the pair and the liquid crystal layer, a light source for supplying light to the pair of substrates, the liquid crystal layer, and the color filter layer. The color filter layer includes three filters for displaying blue, green and red. Only the green filter of the three filters selectively includes an absorbing component capable of absorbing a light spectrum within a wavelength range from 480 nm to 500 nm.

Liquid crystal display

A liquid crystal display apparatus includes a first polarizer located on one side of a first substrate, a second polarizer located on the opposite side of a second substrate, a liquid crystal layer formed of liquid crystal molecules and between the first and the second substrates so that the liquid crystal molecules may be aligned in parallel to the first or the second substrate and to which an electric field is applied in parallel to the first substrate, and a lighting device. The first or the second polarizer includes a polarization layer and supporting materials located on both sides of the polarization layer, reducing light leakage and a colour shift in a black display state when viewed from the oblique direction.

A normally-closed liquid crystal display includes a component to selectively absorb characteristic leakage light occurring at black representation. Therefore, when black is displayed, occurrence of unnecessary leakage light due to partial depolarization of polarized light caused by a component of an LCD panel can be suppressed. It is therefore possible to provide a liquid crystal display in which display performance of black is improved to clearly display black.

In an in-plane switching (ISP) mode controlling transmission and shielding of light by application of lateral electric field to liquid crystal molecules aligned in the direction in parallel to a substrate, increase in luminance or color shift at a black-representation area or upon black-representation condition at an inclined viewing angle is reduced. Liquid crystal display apparatus

In a liquid crystal display and a method of driving the same, the liquid crystal display includes: a liquid crystal display panel having a matrix of a plurality of pixels arrayed two dimensionally in a first direction and in a second direction crossing the first direction; and an illuminating device including a plurality of light sources facing the pixel matrix of the liquid crystal display panel. The plurality of light sources are arrayed in the first direction and grouped into a plurality of light source areas. The turn-on start timing of light sources in each light source area is set to a specific timing based on the input timing of the video signal to the selected pixel rows in the pixel matrix. Further, the turn-on and turn-off timings of the light source areas are set to specific conditions.

Liquid crystal display device and driving method thereof

A color cathode ray tube comprises a panel which outside surface is flat and inside surface has curvature, and a pressed shadow mask having a curved surface opposed to the panel inside surface. The curved surface of the shadow mask is such that the radius of curvature decreases approximately linearly as the position moves from the center to the periphery. Radii of curvature on the major axis, minor axis, and diagonal axis at positions having the same distance from the shadow mask center do not have large differences. This configuration can increase the mechanical strength of the shadow mask.

Color cathode ray tube having flat outer face

A color cathode ray tube including a shadow mask assembly and an inner shield provided for the shadow mask assembly which are disposed within the tube. The shadow mask assembly includes a substantially rectangular shadow mask, a substantially rectangular mask frame, and a spring for mounting the shadow mask assembly in the panel of the cathode ray tube. The shadow mask has a curved surface having electron beam passing holes and a skirt folded from the margin of the curved surface and extending in a tube axis direction. At least one of the major and minor sides of the substantially rectangular shadow mask has a curvature convex to the tube axis with corners thereof being round and at least one of the major and minor sides of the substantially rectangular mask frame is linear or has a curvature concave to the tube axis with corners thereof being round.

A color cathode ray tube includes a panel having an outer surface which is flat and an inner surface which is a curved surface, and the inner surface has an approximately rectangular effective screen on which an image is to be displayed. Letting Tc, Td and D be, respectively, the glass thickness of the panel at the center thereof, the glass thickness of an end of a diagonal effective diameter, and half of the diagonal effective diameter, (Td&minus;Tc)/D&lE;7.5% and the maximum deflection angle is between 96&deg; and 99&deg;.

Shadow mask type color cathode ray tube whose panel surface is flat

A color cathode-ray tube includes a panel portion, a neck portion, a funnel portion connecting the panel and neck portions, a fluorescent layer formed on an inner surface of a face plate of the panel portion, a shadow mask disposed opposite to the fluorescent layer, an electron gun housed in the neck portion, and an internal magnetic shield disposed in the funnel portion. The internal magnetic shield is formed in a substantially quadrangular pyramid-shape having a substantially rectangular first opening with a smaller diagonal dimension at one end adjacent to the electron gun and a substantially rectangular second opening with a larger diagonal dimension than the smaller diagonal dimension at the other end adjacent to the shadow mask. The internal magnetic shield has a long side wall including a long side of the first opening and a size adjustment side wall for the long side connecting to the long side wall, and has a short side wall including a short side of the first opening and a size adjusting side wall for the short side connecting to the short side wall.

A color cathode ray tube comprising a perforated molded mask curved inward in the middle between its two opposite sides and having round corners, and a support frame curved outward in the middle between its two opposite sides and having round corners, wherein the corners of mask are respectively brought into contact with the corners of the mask and the frame. Therefore, the alignment accuracy between a shadow mask assembly and phosphor film and the magnetic shielding of the color cathode ray tube can be improved.

Color cathode-ray tube

A color cathode ray tube comprises a vacuum envelope in which there is mounted a shadow mask having a curved surface having a plurality of electron beam passing holes and a skirt extending downward from the margin of the curved surface. The shadow mask is supported by a mask frame having a substantially rectangular side wall. A shadow mask assembly constituted by fitting and securing the skirt into the side wall is set in the panel of the envelope, and the skirt is fitted and secured into the side wall by curving the middles of two or four facing sides of the skirt inward. Thereby, it is possible to provide a color cathode ray tube having the shadow mask assembly capable of obtaining a superior magnetic shielding characteristic by enlarging the effective region of the curved surface of the shadow mask.
