A modified polyphenylene ether resin is provided which is a product of the reaction of 100 parts by weight of (A) a polyphenylene ether having a main chain structure of the following formula (1): (wherein Rand Reach independently represents hydrogen, a primary or secondary lower alkyl, a phenyl, an aminoalkyl or a hydrocarbonoxy, and Rand Reach independently represents hydrogen, a primary or secondary lower alkyl or a phenyl), with 0.01 to 10.0 parts by weight of (B) a modifier selected from conjugated non-aromatic diene compounds, dienophilic compounds having one dienophile group and precursors of the diene or dienophilic compounds, wherein the number of rearrangement structures each represented by the following formula (2): (wherein R, R, R, and Rhave the same meanings as defined above in the formula (1)) is less than 0.01 per 100 phenylene ether units of the formula (1).

Conjugated non-aromatic diene or dienophilic compound-modified polyphenylene ethers

A woody synthetic resin molded article equivalent to natural wood in secondary processing properties such as nailing, sawing and screw clamping, excellent in strength/rigidity, and having no surface roughness to show good appearance can be stably formed by a woody synthetic resin composition containing 5 to 95 parts by weight of (A) a thermoplastic resin, 5 to 95 parts by weight of (C) a vegetable cellulose and, per 100 parts by weight of (A)+(C), 0.1 to 10 parts by weight of (B) an ultrahigh molecular weight polymer having a viscosity average molecular weight of 1,200,000 or more, wherein the thermoplastic resin (A) contains (J) a polyolefin resin composition.

Woody synthetic resin compositions

Provided is a modified polyphenylene ether resin which is a reaction product of 100 parts by weight of (A) a polyphenylene ether having a main chain structure of the following formula (1):(wherein Rand Reach independently represents hydrogen, a primary or secondary lower alkyl, a phenyl, an aminoalkyl or a hydrocarbonoxy, and Rand Reach independently represent, hydrogen, a primary or secondary lower alkyl or a phenyl), and 0.01 to 10.0 parts by weight of (B) a modifier selected from conjugated non-aromatic diene compounds, dienophilic compounds having one dienophile group and precursors of the diene or dienophilic compounds, wherein the number of rearrangement structures each represented by the following formula (2):(wherein R, R, R, and Rhave the same meanings as defined above in the formula (1)) is less than 0.01 per 100 phenylene ether units of the formula (1). The resin has sufficient functionality and is well balanced between color tone/appearance and heat resistance/mechanical physical properties.

Modified polyphenylene ether resin

A process for producing a thermoplastic resin pellet, which comprises melt-kneading a thermoplastic resin to obtain a thermoplastic resin pellet, wherein the thermoplastic resin comprising: (A) at least one thermoplastic resin selected from the group consisting of polyphenylene ether-based resins, polyacetal-based resins, polyamide-based resins, polystyrene-based resins, acrylic resins, polyester-based resins, polycarbonates, polyphenylene sulfides, polyetherimides, polyethersulfones, polysulfones, polyether (ether) ketones; and (B) a carbon dioxide gas contained in thermoplastic resin (A) in an amount of from 0.3 to 20.0 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of thermoplastic resin (A).
