A two-pack curable composition of the present invention comprises plastisol liquid A which comppounds a thermoplastic resin and a plasticizer, and liquid B which compounds a gelling agent and is characterized in that it has a sprayable viscosity when liquids A and B are mixed and gels within 30 seconds to 60 minutes after application. This two-pack curable composition can be applied in a body-welding step of an automobile manufacturing line as a body or seam sealer (for water-proofing, air-tightness, dust-proofing or rust-prevention of welded areas), an underbody coating (for anti-chipping), or an adhesive.

A process of reinforcing a closed sectional portion of a vehicle body with a two-pack urethane foam composition. The process including the operations of injecting a two-pack urethane foam composition into the closed sectional portion of a vehicular body member; foaming and curing the two-pack urethane foam composition within said closed sectional portion; and then viewing the cured urethane foam-filling confirming opening to confirm whether the closed sectional portion has been sufficiently filled by the two-pack urethane foam composition. The closed sectional portion has a cured urethane foam-filling confirming opening, which is a hole extending through a wall of the closed sectional portion, The opening dimension of the cured urethane foam-filling confirming opening is 10 mm or less in order to assure rigidity of the vehicular body member.

Two-pack urethane foam composition, and two-pack urethane foam composition injecting apparatus and method

An apparatus is disclosed for injecting an expandable or foaming material in a closed sectional structure of a body. The apparatus is suitable for mass-producing vehicles, such as automobiles efficiently. This apparatus is provided with a manipulator () movable to a desired position, a injector () fixed to the manipulator, a device () for supplying the expandable or foaming material to the injector, and a controller () adapted to control the position of the manipulator () so that the injector is set in a position in which the foaming material can be supplied to the closed sectional structure of the vehicle body through an injection port of the same closed sectional structure, and also adapted to control the supply device so that the foaming material can be injected and filled in the closed sectional structure thereof by only such an amount that was set in accordance with the volume of the inside of the sectional structure.

The present invention provides a coating type reinforcement composition of sheet metal which can be applied under warming for ensuring satisfactory levels of tensile rigidity and resistance to dent of a thin sheet metal mainly due to weight reduction of an automobile body, or for collision safety, and which improve a bending strength and a rigidity of the sheet metal without causing a distortion to the sheet metal. The coating type reinforcement composition of sheet metal according to the present invention comprises a liquid epoxy resin, a latent curing agent and an inorganic filler having an aspect ratio (L/D) of 5 or higher, an amount of the inorganic filler contained being 20 to 50% by weight and the composition being a viscous preparation with a high viscosity.
