The present invention relates to a process for semi-permanent hair straightening and aftercare treatment and to a kit of compositions for use in this process. In the process of the present invention, the hair is firstly subjected to a straightening treatment using a straightening composition comprising at least one carboxylic acid of the formula (I): R&#x2014;CO&#x2014;COOH defined below and/or a hydrate thereof and/or a salt thereof. Then, a specific cleansing composition and/or a specific conditioning composition comprising at least one carboxylic acid of the formula (I): R&#x2014;CO&#x2014;COOH defined below and/or a hydrate thereof and/or a salt thereof are used as aftercare products in order to improve durability of the straightening effect.

The present invention is related to an aqueous composition comprising an alkalizing agent and a cationic polymer. Cationic charge density of the polymer is preferably between 3 and 4 mEq/g and particularly 3.7 mEq/g at pH 7.0.

Coloring and perming compositions for hair

The present invention is related to an aqueous composition comprising an alkalizing agent and an aqueous emulsion of a silicone copolymer. Coloring composition

An aqueous oxidative coloring composition for keratin fibers has at least one oxidative dye precursor and optionally at least one coupling agent and an aqueous emulsion of divinyldimethicone/dimethicone copolymer with an internal phase viscosity of more than 1&#xd7;10mm/s measured at 0.01 Hz and at about 25&#xb0; C. and at least one alkyl ether or ester or amine alkyl amine or quaternary ammonium compound.
