The ambient temperature measuring assembly is thermally insulated from the housing for thermally separating the ambient temperature measuring assembly from the housing.

A polarity of the fault current waveform is compared with a polarity of the load current waveform to determine if a change in polarity between the fault current waveform and the load current waveform occurred to determine the direction of the fault. Data representing a fault to at least one remote location is transmitted when a predetermined trigger value is reached.
