Various embodiments may provide systems and methods for determining a distance to a short in a two-conductor wire. Various embodiments may include determining a distance to a short in a two-conductor wire based at least in part on a phase difference between a phase of an injected tone and a phase of a reflected tone. Various embodiments may include determining a distance to a short in a two-conductor wire based at least in part on both a phase difference and an amplitude difference between an injected tone and a reflected tone. Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide a method for performing voice activity detection, including: receiving audio data from an audio source of an electronic device; generating a plurality of model input features using a hardware-based feature generator based on the received audio data; providing the plurality of model input features to a hardware-based voice activity detection model; receiving an output value from the hardware-based voice activity detection model; and determining a presence of voice activity in the audio data based on the output value.

Disclosed are systems, devices and methods for determining a range estimate between two Bluetooth enabled devices based, at least in part, on round trip phase measurements of wireless signals transmitted between the devices. In one example, phase estimates between a single antenna of a first device and each element within the antenna array of a second device may be used to determine a residual range between the first device and the second device. In addition, an Angle of Arrival (AoA) may also be used to determine a two dimensional or three dimensional position of the second device.

In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus may receive at least one signal from a second wireless device, the at least one signal including one or more of RTP information or inertial sensor information. The apparatus may determine a path of trajectory of the second wireless device based at least in part on the at least one AoA measurement, the at least one RTP measurement, and the inertial sensor information.

Certain aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to magnetometer calibration. In some aspects, a device may obtain multiple sets of magnetic field measurements corresponding to multiple local magnetic field strengths, wherein each set of magnetic field measurements is measured in association with an unknown local magnetic field strength. The device may calculate multiple error values using the multiple sets of magnetic field measurements, estimated values of the multiple local magnetic field strengths, and estimated hard iron bias values. The device may identify a set of hard iron bias values for magnetometer calibration based at least in part on comparing the multiple error values. The device may calibrate a magnetometer using the identified set of hard iron bias values.

GNSS receivers and methods of determining a current receiver state of a GNSS receiver are provided. The method includes receiving positioning signals from a plurality of satellites; generating a plurality of correlation grids from the received positioning signals, where each correlation grid is associated with a respective one of the plurality of satellites; estimating a probability distribution of the current receiver state from the plurality of correlation grids; and determining a maximum likelihood estimate of the current receiver state from the estimated probability distribution.

In particular, two devices may measure tone signals transmitted between the two devices for determination of a round-trip phase measurement. Obtaining multiple round-trip measurements from tone signals transmitted at different carrier frequencies may enable resolving at least some range ambiguities.

Object tracking by establishing a mesh network and transmitting packets

A location device (e.g., realized at one or more of a mobile device and/or a location server) includes a wireless transceiver, one or more location sensors and a floor-plan of a venue. The location device determines a plurality of hypothetical locations of a mobile device in the venue in response to data sets provided by the one or more location sensors. The data sets are associated with obstacle indication values calculated for the venue or for regions of the venue including locations corresponding to the data sets. The obstacle indication values indicate the proximity or orientation of the obstacle edges in the region or in the venue. The location device refines the one or more hypothetical locations based on the obstacle indication values to provide an estimate of the current location of the mobile device.

Methods and apparatus for determining locations of devices in confined spaces

A method and apparatus for harvesting information from a plurality of radio frequency (RF) sources. In one example, a collector device receives RF signals from the RF sources to produce the harvesting information. The collector device also determines environmental context information describing a physical environment of the collector device as the RF signals were being received, and a position of the collector device where the RF signals where received. The collector device then associates the environmental context information with the harvesting information and the position, and transmits the harvesting information and position with the associated environmental context information to a server device. The server device may then compute positioning information biased to different environmental contexts. This biased positioning information may then be utilized by other collector devices having similar environmental contexts to better estimate their respective locations.

Terrestrial positioning assistance serving based on receiver device context

A method for tracking collector devices in an indoor area associated with imaging devices and RF signal sources covering the area includes generating aspects of a plurality of coarse position tracks of the collector devices based on RF signal measurements obtained by the collector devices from the RF signal sources. Imaging devices capture image frames of the collector devices in the indoor area which are then processed in order to determine aspects of a plurality of fine position tracks of the collector devices. The server and the collector device communicate with each other and match aspects of at least one of the fine position tracks to the aspects of the coarse position track of the communicating collector device in order to determine the precise location of the collector device in the indoor area.
