A method for controlling a thermal conditioning system is disclosed. The thermal conditioning system includes a refrigerant unit configured to circulate a refrigerant. The refrigerant circuit includes a main loop and a first bypass branch. The main loop includes a compression device, a first heat exchanger configured to exchange heat with a first heat transfer fluid, a first expansion device, and a first evaporator configured to exchange heat with an element of a powertrain of a motor vehicle via a second heat transfer fluid. The method includes determining a pressure of the refrigerant at the outlet of the first evaporator and controlling, depending on the determined pressure, at least one parameter so that the pressure of the refrigerant at the outlet of the first evaporator is below a predetermined pressure threshold.

A thermal conditioning system for a motor vehicle, including a refrigerant circuit including a main loop including in succession: a compression device; a first heat exchanger; a first expansion device; a second heat exchanger; a third heat exchanger; a refrigerant accumulation device. An inner volume of a portion of main loop extending from an outlet of the first heat exchanger to an inlet of the first expansion device defines a first reference volume. An inner volume of the accumulation device defines a second reference volume. The ratio of the first reference volume and the second reference volume is greater than 0.2.

A method for controlling a system for a motor vehicle is disclosed. The system includes an actuator, a volatile memory (RAM) in which an item of position information of the actuator (IP) is stored, and a long-term memory (EPROM). The following are stored in the long-term memory (EPROM): at least one item of position information (IP) of the actuator and an item of information relating to the powering down of the actuator (I), which assumes a first value (v) when the system has been powered down in a controlled manner and assuming assumes a second value (v) when the system has suffered a fault causing the current value of the position of the actuator stored in the volatile memory (RAM) to be deleted.
